In the lower bracket of Insomnia58, Jasmine Tea and Full Tilt survive the challenges brought by Team XENEX and Comfortably Spanked, setting up a showdown between them in the next round.
Jasmine Tea vs. Comfortably Spanked
The first map of the series was Snakewater. Jasmine Tea struck first with two quick rounds and nearly took a third before Comfortably Spanked responded, holding off the push into last. The round then went back-and-forth a little, but Comfortably Spanked managed to finally take it to put themselves on the board. From that point on, however, Jasmine Tea were in control, alternating between lightning and slower rounds until they closed out the map 6-1.
Gullywash began with a long back-and-forth round which Jasmine Tea finally managed to secure, and after that Comfortably Spanked had no answer as Jasmine Tea took four lightning rounds to win the map 5-0 and move on.
Full Tilt vs. Team XENEX
The two teams started out on the classic map of Badlands. Full Tilt took a quick round to start out and then took the next mid, but failed their push into last and were pushed back to their second, leading to a back-and-forth battle. Team XENEX finally managed to take the round after some time to tie the score up. Full Tilt then managed to take two slower rounds and then two quick ones to take a 5-1 lead, and thus won the map.
Team XENEX proved they were not out of it yet, however, as they came back in force on Product, taking the first two rounds very closely. By this point Full Tilt did not have an answer, and fell in the third round to tie the series 1-1 and force a decider.
Snakewater was thus the map that would decide the fates of both teams. Team XENEX managed to take a drawn-out back-and-forth round to start, but Full Tilt responded with two quick rounds to take their own lead. The fourth round was back-and-forth as well, but Full Tilt secured it as well to take a two-round lead. Team XENEX ground out the next round and looked to tie, but failed to push into last, allowing Full Tilt to push all the way back and take the round to reestablish a two-round lead with only a few minutes remaining. Team XENEX was unable to convert any other rounds, and Full Tilt took the 4-2 map win and moved on in the lower bracket.
