What is the incentive for someone like me who doesn't break the rules and spam in tf2c chat to play on a service that is basically the same thing but with less players? I don't mind their ads as they're not disruptive. I don't mind that idiots are getting chat bans cause I'm not breaking the rules and I have never had any trouble with a mod or admin ever.

literally half the competitive playerbase was split between ESEA and CEVO (around time of ESEA S16) and ESEA nearly dropped us, following that CEVO ended up screwing everyone over and a lot of people stopped playing, ESEA has only been meeting the quota for min.# of open teams each season for a long time now

The tournament thing is shady but it doesn't really affect my ability to play lobbies. And Honestly if someone being banned for not giving up a slot is some horrible atrocity to you, then I think the majority of users of tf2c have become spoiled. They run a free service to organize lobbies for the community and haven't asked for ads until recently. They rely on donations for server costs and stuff, and there's no doubt that the creator has spent a lot of his time into developing the site. If he wants to play a slot on his own fucking site and you're not donating the least you can do is let him play it

The tournament thing is shady but it doesn't really affect my ability to play lobbies.
