I use an old stock HP mouse and I want to but a new one but since I don't know what the dpi is I can't so are there any methods to find out my dpi.Secondly how does tf2's sensitivity multipliers work?
It would somewhat help if you included the model/make of your old HP mouse.
I tried looking through old packages but can't find the model or make
It really doesn't matter, just check your cm/360 and adjust in-game sensitivity to get the same cm/360 on the new mouse. Unless you use acceleration... But you shouldn't use.
A lot of mice have adjustable DPI these days (or at least 2 or 3 settings to choose from)
And as people have said you can just change your in-game sens and/or windows sens so it's the same as your old mouse

also its worth noting that one DPI setting on one mouse isn't necessarily identical to DPI on another mouse, they can vary a little
I agree with others. Just get a new mouse, choose a sensible dpi and change your in game sens until it feels right.
You could measure your sens with your current mouse with a ruler, but honestly you may find a more comfortable setting with a new mouse anyway.

The stock Dpi of standard mouses is usually 800, but it could range from 400 to 800
