Yeah she's really nice and a genuinely cool person. Sorry to hear that about your dog. :(

I played on a team with zabi last season and have known her for a long time, she is legit and I would never imagine her attempting to scam anyone.

I do not in any way mean for this to detract from your efforts - but if it's only one bum leg, most dogs are absolutely fine on 3 legs (some on two depending on the size of the breed) so if somebody tried to tell you that putting your doge to sleep was the only other option they were absolutely 100% trying to scare you into paying them lots of money. You could absolutely let this go, and although your doggie friend would have a lower quality of life because of it (arthritis, bone spurs, other bad things) they would likely live a normal life. You may've gotten some advice from the vet already - but in case they just tried to sell you on surgery straight away. If you don't have one already you should invest in a/borrow a dog crate. Prolonged rest (I know it can be hard) can often greatly improve the situation and if you have a hard time keeping them calm in the house the crate is the only way to ensure that that rest is gotten. It will also absolutely be required after surgery - because there will be a fairly long period (at least 1 1/2 months) of rest required post-op. Sometimes you can even get *really* lucky and with a strict enough rest period the ligament will just heal itself on its own - particularly in small breeds and young dogs, or where the ligament is not fully detached (I could tell you how to check if it is if if you're curious or don't know yet), and since you're relying on donations it would be highly advisable to start doing this asap You can also reduce the swelling with doggie anti-inflammatories (hopefully you've gotten these already) which keeping that down now and in the interim pre-op will be great :D.
Why I know these things: My first dog tore his CCL (doggie ACL) when I was 8 and it was a complete rupture and was very traumatic because I was playing with him when he did it. His was a really arduous recovery because he was an above average sized labrador retriever and you couldn't keep him still ever for any reason lol.
I also had a dog later in life that had severe hip dysplasia in both hips (basically a non-existant hip joint). So she had to have double doggie hip surgery - the funny thing about dogs is that their bodies will actually generate new hip joints out of muscle tissue and they'll walk kind of funny afterwords because the "new" hip is rarely ever perfect, but they don't have any pain or trouble jumping/running etc. The only issue she had was that she would sometimes tip over forward when she tried to get up too fast because she needed to put most of her weight on her front legs for the first few months after surgery :(
All the same best of luck! I hope everything turns out great :D

I can't imagine having to put down my dog early. I hope you get the funds. I'll donate when I get the opportunity. :)
Edit: Donated :)

:( yeah if she's got a very free moving joint (in ways it shouldn't move - particularly forwards) rest recovery is probably unlikely since she looks pretty big in the picture :( Just keep on that rest. On the bright side the execution of the procedure is very easy so once it's done, after the long rest period, everything should be great :D
Best of luck :D

going to be hard to get the amount needed since we can barely get 6k$ to send teams to lan but i hope you do hit the campaing. my dog recently died so i know that it is very traumatizing especially if youve had him from your childhood. best of luck dude :)
I recommend you also post this somewhere bigger, like reddit. It doesn't even have to be r/tf2, I bet you could get some attention on dog and pet subreddits. Also, if you can take some better pictures of her, you can make a photo series and put it on imgur; they'll eat it right up.
Just take some really cute photos of her when she was healthy and playing around if you have them then one or two of her now and maybe even the x-ray photo if you have it. Put chunks of text in the middle explaining the situation. Then put your link at the end. If you frontpage, you'll probably have this covered very quickly.
And if it's not a privacy issue, you should probably post your paypal along with it everywhere, or if it is you can make a new one for this purpose. Paypal is probably the easiest way for most people to donate. Even if you have a CC, just entering all your details is a pain in the ass and most people don't like to give their names and addresses to strange websites.
Best of luck!
