There's another thread like this but its 2 years old and in another subforum so i figured i may as well make another one here. My recommendations list ended up being a skramz starterpack (the 6v6 elitist version of screamo) for the most part but there's some other stuff mixed in there too. Lately i've been trying to get more into black metal so if you have any recommendations I'd really appreciate it!
skramz(real screamo!!!lol) with a bit of a post/black metal feel sprinkled in, yet still melodic and varied in tone and energy. I saw them about a year ago at a house show and it was probably one of the most intense, intimate, and unfortunately non-sexual experiences I've ever had. If you're into some of the more extreme kinds of metal and want to a place to start from with skramz I'd recommend checking these guys out.

Here's a really fun and well executed emoviolence (i'm not joking) band. They kinda sound like the band above but more to the point and obnoxious in a good way. To get an idea of what I mean, I ordered a tape from them and they packed it with "thank you so much #dismantlehardcore" written in sharpie on a single magic the gathering card.
https://blacknail.bandcamp.com/
skramz with atmospheric post-rock elements and unique vocals, really artsy and passionate.
https://gilliancarter.bandcamp.com/album/dreams-of-suffocation
Really technical and frantic skramz. This album is at its best when played as a whole and has some of the most creative guitar playing and drumming I've ever heard.
https://ampere.bandcamp.com/album/like-shadows
Not sure how to describe them, but i guess some sort of black metal. Someone on youtube called them war metal.

jazzy piano + shrieking japanese lady + hardcore. Basically the musical equivalent of Nichijou. this song sounds kinda like system of a down (a band i feel so dumb for overlooking) but they're pretty all over the place.

capnnofapnLately i've been trying to get more into black metal so if you have any recommendations I'd really appreciate it!
boy oh boy where do i even begin
start with the Emperor's debum album and then Mayhem's debut, in case you haven't listened any of them they are the BM essentials and big landmarks in metal genre overall, potentially the best and the most accessible albums you might dig from the genre;
apart from that i highly recommend Lord Belial (got a hat named after this song lul), Gorgoroth and of course Burzum; i also remember a bit of DSBM with Silencer among my faves;
you may like Revenge also although they're kinda hipster tier black metal but what do i know

Judging by your tastes, capnnofapn, you'd probably really like Deafheaven. They're pretty much a post-hardcore band that decided to try black metal. Not really my thing (I'm pretty slow to warm to all that hip blackgaze stuff), but they're pretty popular now. They have some good chord progressions, I'll give them that.

idk is it worth just because of 1 song, but last Gerogerigegege album, apart from few ambient songs, have this
https://youtube.com/watch?v=mZGNTx6SrrE sounds like raw black metal (lower your sound if you gonna listen)
And as for more complete recommendation, Lifelover is good if you feel emo lol.

You link to Mechina, do you also know Sybreed? They have an album called Antares, I always wondered when I saw you post. Definitely one of my all-time favorite bands, a huge shame they broke up... especially after dropping their best album to date. RIP

I'm quite into -core stuff and here're some bands and their albums I'd recommend to check out (you can surely check out more if you'd like):
- The Amity Affliction - Let the Ocean Take Me (favourite band, favourite album; their music is quite simple but lyrics are quite strong);
- Beartooth - Disgusting + Sick EP;
- My Ticket Home - Strangers Only (some fresh nu-metal; earlier albums are quite different);
- Our Last Night - Younger Dreams (those guys are actually very talented and are getting better with time);
- Dance Gavin Dance - Instant Gratification / Acceptance Speech / Mothership (truly amazing band; they've got a lot more albums since like 2006, but I prefer the last 3 with Tilian on clean vocals);
- Forever in Combat - Divided to Unite (their first album, started as cover band consisting of 3 members);
- The Comfort - Love EP (newly formed mhc band, really like their sound);
- Ice Nine Kills - Every Trick in the Book (each song of this album is based on a piece of classical literature which is quite cool);
- The Plot in You - Happiness In Self Destruction;
- Tiny Moving Parts - Celebrate (or honestly any other album; some good midwest emo here);
- Jason Richardson - I (you probably know him from Chelsea Grin or Born of Osiris; he's recently realeased a (mostly) instrumental solo album featuring Luke Holland on drums);
- Состояние Птиц - 11 or Selt-titled (a russian band usually tagged as screamo but they've got a unique sound imo).
Please no "lol edgy shadowburn frag movie music xd".

Kuvalda is a legend! How could I not mention them?!
Actually Entrace, band I mentioned, was on last Kuvalda gig in Moscow in 2012 (under the name Shatter, IIRC).
Here's another Russian metal-meme: Dave Mustaine fan (with English subs).
Also I remembered one great Czech band, Malignant Tumour - Crust'n'roll (and Grindcore in early days) 1991-present: youtube, bandcamp

I love all their albums starting with Antares (Slave Design was just... awkward, still good though), but Automaton I feel was their pinnacle in terms of songwriting, both lyrically and musically. I still can't get over the fact Drop and Ben aren't working together anymore...

That other vid... ditto. When it comes to Czech bands, I'm more of a !T.O.O.H! guy, myself. Pure schizophrenia distilled in a metal band; manic, colorful, tortured. This album is up there with the likes of Obscura and Human for me. (The vocalist/guitarist was actually diagnosed with schizophrenia, by the way, which killed the already dead band even more. RIP)
