VNN added a few more details he forgot to include in the video

1. Non Stock Skins are happening
2. The Class Pack is a huge focus, and DRiller stressed that old updates (such as scout and heavy updates) only had a single class pack, but as time moves on peoples expectations grow
3. There is no title for the update, it's referred to as Gun Mettle 3 in-house but is bigger than GM & TB

it would be funny if after valve tries to figure out the best competitive format, they come to the same conclusion that the community came to

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the reskins of the medi-gun still tell logs that an ubercharge was deployed?

Why?
That's some next level pettiness. He didn't do anything scandalous, he didn't insult anyone, he didn't spread misinformation. He went to Valve's HQ and asked some questions, what is wrong with that? Are you dissatisfied with DRiller's responses? Or maybe with the content Valve is planning to release? Why shoot the messenger?
I've never liked VNN, for a number of reasons. I would argue that he uses Valve in his name to imply that he's somehow associated with Valve, even though this is basically the first time he's had any inside information that nobody else had or that wasn't already public knowledge. Normally his news posts are scraped from whatever's on reddit or facepunch that week. When I watch his stream or videos I get the feeling that he wants to keep up this appearance of being an insider as much as possible, and you can see it in the questions kids ask him. His stream is usually kids coming to HIM with the Valve news, i.e. the Steam exploit a few days ago. Which on its own, would be fine.
But he's not really VALVE News Network, it's mostly TF2 and CS:GO. Which is fine, there's no problem with that. But all these kids come to him with Dota2 news or questions or with HL mods or Portal stuff or anything else Valve related, and he feigns interest a bit and just kinda sticks to TF2 and some CS.
But I also once saw him run a goodbye screen for literally 20 minutes, during which ads were playing. He is a little obnoxious with the ads and product placement (as you see in this very video), and the feeling I've gotten in his stream before is that he is way too in your face with trying to extract virtual items from kids. Maybe he has cut down on these things a bit since I last watched, I have no idea.
Besides my personal gripes, I just found the interviewing in this video tough to watch. I'm not saying I'm great, but I worked as a journalist for over a year and interviewing was what I did for a living, and it was embarrassing to see his questions for Dave Riller. I couldn't watch, I had to listen. It was too awkward for me. For him to mention he's there along with other video game press is painful. If I'm not mistaken, he got in because he made a post in the Gabe Newell AMA which he had his community upvote for visibility, which finally got him his connection at Valve. For contrast, I appreciated that when Uncle Dane visited Valve recently, he didn't tell anyone at Valve he was coming, he didn't introduce himself as a YouTuber or personality at all, just as "Dane", and he got really awesome inside information just as easily and made a great video about it (without infomercials for a CS:GO skin site at the beginning). I guess I prefer humble people versus not so much.
End of the day I'm sure he's a nice guy in real life, but I can't stand anything he does online, he doesn't seem to care about his viewers, only their items, he seems mega fake and not at all genuine, and I think if his username was "Tyler123" or something versus Valve News Network, he would be lost in a sea of content creators, like many others are. Maybe the follow-up videos will be better, we'll see. I try to remain positive. All this is just my personal opinion.

Great to see them talk like this. Most of it sounds really good (though of course, talk is cheap)
One thing that did concern me is that they're talking about weapon slots for Pyro, which doesn't suggest they're going to fix his broken mechanics, unless I missed something.

how to strike gold on the tftv forums: post a video in which valve states they're working on everything that everyone already knew or could have figured they were working on
obviously they're going to implement a new elo system and stress placement matches?? how else is matchmaking EVER going to work without either of them? the actual issue was not implementing these things in matchmaking when it mattered during the initial wave of players. we also already knew they were working on balancing items around "competitive player feedback," and afaik it barely showed last update. we also knew they were trying to bridge the casual and competitive scenes. the only thing in this video worth being hyped in any way about is a new map, as long as you ignore their track record.
valve communication has always been an issue when the majority of their information comes through a third-party source like b4nny or [player who visits hq], but I think you could reason that most of these things would be happening, no? are they planning on making matchmaking relevant somehow without an improvement to elo? are they planning on making competitive tf2 more popular without including the pub community? this video is everything everyone with a brain already knew just monetized so at least someone could make some money off of the game

I'm really glad this was said. VNN is a youtube clickbait channel dependent on pretending he's an industry insider. I'm glad we got to hear from Valve devs, but lord I hope VNN isnt going to become a primary outlet of information.

are they going to remove the net setting cvars from competitive mm? because that playing soldier or demo in competitive mm was probably the least fun experience ive ever had in a videogame
