this seems like an incredibly useful feature, hopefully it holds up with time as we all know what some of the older demos are like.
really awesome work though, honestly.

Can't look at this atm as I'm on my phone, but if annotation tools like tactics.tf get put in this would be a massive resource for teams and analysts, i echo kaidus enthusiasm, this is great work and I think anyone doing coaching or LAN preparation will be able to get good value out of this. Keep it up demos.tf!
I've always wished something like this existed. Huge thanks to you man!
I've tried using it with Chrome and I just get an error when I try selecting demos from my tf folder. Am I doing something wrong?

are you using pov demos? because this tool is for stv demos.

this is incredible.
can you give a basic technical explanation of this? it interests me greatly

Is there a way to support this service? If things go well for me in the close future I wouldn't mind tossing some dosh to keep this project/service up, and I'm sure there's other people who would be happy to help too!

Really cool project!
I'm looking into possibly using the demo parsing bits to take demos from Tempus and turn them into a different format for playback with my TAS plugin (basically to remove other players while recording). Been looking through the source for a bit and noticed that the parsing for UserCmds is blank, however. I understand that it's not exactly important to have that info for demos.tf, but is there a plan to add this in to make it a more general purpose demo parser?
I've added you on steam because I really want to talk some more about this.

Usermessage content is completely arbitrary. Your best bet is a combination of guessing + looking at https://github.com/LestaD/SourceEngine2007
EDIT: misread usercmds as usermessages

This is actually insane. I didn't even think something like this was possible through a web browser. One of my least favorite things about doing team demo reviews is how often you have to pause and rewind to catch everything that's going on which inevitably causes the demo to crash.
Is there any way you can add an indicator for the control points so that we can tell when they get captured? Just a minor thing and I know that you can tell which points are already captured based on how both teams are positioned, but it would be helpful when you're skipping to around to different times in the demo.
Much respect for your efforts so far.

Showing control point/payload status is planed

This is fucking nuts wtf. Tried it out yesterday with a couple of friends after mix and it worked wonders. Superb work!
i think being able to click on a player to then follow them would be really nice if you havent already planned to do something like that
Pushed a small fix that should fix the "voiceInit" issue

It boggles the mind how a volunteer can create something this sophisticated while Valve can't even stop their demo recording tool from recording pre-game.
Was watching something back and a scout got hit to 3hp and was essentially invisible, would be nice to have outlines on the icons so you can more easily keep track of where players are.

When you upload a demo file to view, the share button is nonexistent. If you press view from an individual demo page, the share link button will show up.
pazerEDIT: Also protip for your map images from cl_leveloverview (although not sure if they're actually yours or if they're just from the tf2 wiki or something): mess with the arrow keys to move the camera's vertical position upwards so you don't have weird clipping on tops of trees and stuff, you'll end up with a much nicer looking level overview. Takes a bit of fiddling though.

someone could look into making something like this for each map: http://simpleradar.com/

Hey I noticed it doesn't seem to work for this week's map in UGC. Would help to review koth_bagel_b4 with my team before the match, but I understand if it would take longer than that. Awesome work! I adore this addition.
Adding overviews for new maps would need to be done per version and would probably take a bit of time, Bagel is a version ahead of the one being played in UGC already so idk how useful adding an overview for it would be at this stage.
Letting people upload new ones themselves could be useful but could also be abused or just done wrong, so I'm not sure what the most efficient way to get new overviews added would be.
Maybe if generating the overview could be automated that could work but it'd require a computer running TF2 and on some maps the autogen overview could be awful.
Alternatively if there's a standardised way to make them I'm willing to just make a ton from a list.

Add koth_bagel as supported map.
The main work currently to add a new map is not making the map overview image, but aligning it to the in-game coordinates.
