Yo ive been away from tf2 for a few years. Whats up with b4nny? Is he still the best tf2 player? Whats he like now vs back then?
He won rewind lan, became f4ttny, and he also lost all airshotting skills on Soldier.
thrones_hes fat
mostly irl and ingame too i guess

He's still considered the best player but back then he was much more soft spoken of a person and overall nicer
This should sort of give you an idea of how he is now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUbDlzan_IQ
And this was him back then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcdydMQugKM
I could imagine him getting rather upset over what happened in that video nowadays.
(Maybe not since it was so fucking cool of an escape but still thats my point)
EDIT
Also forgot to mention theres this documentary being made about him, this part of it is a good explanation as well, in fact the whole documentary will probably be a great way to explain how he's massively changed over the years in terms of personality / as a person. https://youtu.be/XGGV-05ymAw?t=46s

He's not the hero TF2 deserves, nor the one it needs right now
most of us hate him because he's the socially inept face of the community for no reason other than that he appeals to 12-14 year olds who hold him in the highest regard
e: general consensus:
Starkieits such a shame that someone so arrogant and socially inept is the face of tf2
the party after the finals was just the production crew, the other invite teams and your own teammates bitching about you
also yeah he is a top invite player and full time streamer and that does contribute to his success

i think being basically the only full time tf2 streamer, having a youtube, and being one of the best players in the game contributes to his popularity more than you are giving credit for

He went through a LOT of change very fast, and it seems as if it has had a negative impact on his personality.

if you look at any game if the best player in the world streams for 6 hours/day he's going to be popular regardless of whether or not people like him. The fact is, he produces more competitive tf2 content than anyone in the history of the game and people will always tune into his stream to watch high level games and learn from him, even if they think hes annoying.

It has become fashionable to hate b4nny. I think that's the fate of anyone who's at the top of their trade long enough. People want to mold the top guy into a villain and to cheer the underdog challengers on to finally topple the evil king. Almost everything b4nny says and does is public, recorded on stream, and heavily scrutinized. If he does anything that isn't innocent and angelic it will be spun to appear as bad as possible by people who have made up their mind about him. There's been a number of times that he's done and said some really out-of-line stuff for sure and it's good that he is called out but even that stuff generally gets blown out of proportion. If you step back and look at his overall behavior he tends to be a very reasonable person. Compare him to other top players or top players of other games and you'll understand.
