I think most people will agree QL was terrible to watch and honestly to play and one of the reasons for that was that it took the movement from q3, added a bit of q2 flavor (double jumps) and then reduced the damage on every major weapon except rockets, and thus you had 10 minutes with 1 frag; it's so much harder to outright kill someone because the weapons you needed to chase are bad in those situations.
q4 had engine problems but other than that every other quake game is super fun

Most QL players like the airstrafing amount in QL. The worrying thing is that some of the trailers seem to have shots with literally no airstrafing at all, i.e. once you're on a trajectory, you're stuck.
