I just reinstalled QL after not playing it for a year or so. I never had a nice competitive config for it and I heard there was some thing to help with sensitivity being the same as in TF2 or something? I'm not sure, but as I don't know much about tweaking quake, any knowledge/links/advice on the subject would be great.
Don't let me down, TFTV!

Make yourself a hud:
http://visualhud.pk69.com/
For Pro Configs:
http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=1923955
Sensitivity is around the same, make sure you put in_mouse 2 in your auto exec for raw input though. It will def change also with your field of view. Anything else?

BLoodSireI heard there was some thing to help with sensitivity being the same as in TF2 or something
The other week povohat released a mouse driver that essentially allows you to transfer your quake accel settings to any other game. Not sure if that is what you mean, though.
If you use accel in TF2 and you want to transfer it over to quake, it is possible: http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=1903728 You would basically have to do the reverse of those directions.
If you don't use accel at all then there is nothing to worry about, just use the same sens value for both games. And yes in_mouse 2 (or 1 actually).
A higher FOV in quake will change the way your sens feels at first but it will not change your inches/360.
BLoodSireI never had a nice competitive config for it
Use Stermy's config it's the best. http://www.stermy.com/ You'll have to change the keybinds/sens etc to your liking obviously but it looks good and runs smooth. And just a tip set your quake graphics to max quality and then install stermy's cfg. His HUD is nice, too.

I feel like I'd play quack live more if it weren't hosted in an internet browser, I have this weird subconscious mindset that since it's browser-based, it's it's like a shitty flash game

And here's a link with some general info on dueling and some older pro configs. Of course the great thing about quake configs is that they always work regardless of how old they are because Id doesn't constantly break their game when they release updates. *cough*valve*cough*

PQL CA and CTF are ludicrously fast and insanely fun, plus you only need one person with premium to host a 6 man premium/private game.

i miss the "everything is silver" graphical config :(
btw: If you twitch a lot and feel like your sens is too low because of the FoV, just try raising it. I play with a different fov between tf2 and quake just because it makes my hand/eye coordination more similar, and I'm used to varying movements for 180s anyway.

A lot of things were already answered. Sensitivity scaling between TF2 and QL is identical, so if you're using the same sens and FOV in both games your aiming shouldn't be any different. Accel is a bit trickier. The amount of accel in TF2 is FPS dependent. I believe the equation is like TF2 accel = quake accel x dpi/1000.
There's a few interp commands for QL that you might like to mess with for placebo purposes.
cl_timenudge by default is 0, but if you make it a negative number (lowest being 20) it functions like raising your cl_interp in TF2. If I get 100 ping to a server I normally use cl_timenudge -20.
cg_truelightning shows the "true" placement of your lg. If your ping is high and you set truelightning to a number that is less than 1, you'll see that it's wobbly as fuck. Some players like setting cg_truelightning to around .8 or so to get a more accurate representation of their lg hitreg.
That's all I can really think of to add.

It's not a shitty flash game. It's basically the same as any other game, but instead of using an .exe to launch the game, they use a .dll through the browser. Check out what it downloads on your hard drive, it still downloads 400+mb of maps and pak files

That HUD editor is amazing. I made this one in like 10 minutes. health and ammo placement is similar to tf2:

Oh, just noticed this, I understand if you like the speedograph, but you can just enable a speed meter under your cursor, its a lot more convenient, at least for me.

I'd recommend the noctis hud btw, and ill up my autoexec as well so you can see some of the basic settings you want in the game in terms of graphics, lg, etc. Unlike tf2, a lot of settings in ql are imo, personal, such as flares, lg style, picmip etc. Let me know if you have any questions or anything; it's a fantastic game which everyone should play.

I hope you don't think I'm being egotistic by uploading my cfgs or anything, but there are way too many options to explain without a visualization.
