All jokes aside Stabby and Dane are both really nice guys. I think the format is dumb, but I do hope these guys have fun and I hope whomever watches enjoys it. Who knows, maybe some of the casual audience will see this and get hooked on TF2.

I don't think it's special and sigafoo probably has some contact to make this process even faster.
This has nothing to do with Valve acknowledging 7v7 as the superior format, it's more about sigafoo putting the effort into it and contacting Valve asking them if they can put it on there

It's not. For the last goddamn time, it's NOT. As people have explained, we've tried this kind of format in the past and it failed, and if you want to discount that then we can just look at the previous tournament Sigafoo himself hosted, which also (you guessed it) failed. Again, not new.

I say we're justified in being gratuitously rude to someone who's just doing this (which literally no one wanted nor asked for after the first time it was done) out of spite and masking it with money and playing it off as "good intentions" when all it is is nothing more than a gigantic temper tantrum.

Furthermore where's this "effort" at? His website is riddled with spelling mistakes and he completely ignored every single bit of advice people have given him over the multiple threads on the topic of this game-mode no matter how nice people worded it for him. He doesn't care, and all of you guys backing him are really poor judges of character.

It's fucking frustrating to see so many unaware people just suck up to him and call him a saint because he's throwing a minuscule amount of money at the game.

and on the other hand, there's some people who call him a devil for not putting his money into sixes for no reason

I haven't always had luck either when I've sent emails concerning stuff that we would appreciate being mentioned on their blog posts or through in-game notifications. It's kind of like 50/50 chance if they would end up even reading it to begin with on the first message that you send to them. Sometimes also nothing happens if I send anything to TF Team, while most of the time Eric Smith does respond but it's impossible to always depend on an individual person alone.

ITT: more entitled 6s players thinking that this format is either aimed at them as a replacement for 6s or a direct threat to 6s.

I think you missed the point of "downfrag me cus im right". Basically it implied that the vast majority of this board just circlejerks their opinions and can't deal with things that contradict their opinions. Basically people too unintelligent to form a proper counter argument or accept that people have different opinions to their own. To be fair at the very least you attempted to respond to what I said, even if it was just completely baseless yet bold claims.
