process last is dicks but not nearly as dicks as gully last
I didn't have any issue with metalworks after playing it twice, just a bit confusing to begin with. I'll still vote for foundry.

Yeah, I dunno. I find it really, really boring. The last point is pretty awful and boring to push into, but it's not really much worse than snakewater or granary in that regard I guess. The mid is neat I guess, but in the end I guess the reason why I don't like it is that I just don't. Or maybe it's that my team is shit at it. WHATEVER.
I like metalworks more than gullywash, the metalworks mid and last points are better. I also feel that it's a really well balanced map, and I really appreciate that last isn't a giant open expanse that's boring and retarded to push into like snakewater, process and granary. I hope it stays.

I really like the idea of introducing a new koth and A/D map into the rotation. The strategy level for viaduct and gpit is considerably underdeveloped in comparison to how we play cp maps, and having a single week of each game mode is just kind of odd.
especially now that we have koth maps that could actually be good for 6s instead of being huge moshpits for fifty pubscouts

In all honesty I didn't mind cp_ashville.. but then again it was a super turtley last, plus the map was so big it really slowed down the pace of game. I still found it challenging in a couple new ways though. Wouldn't mind seeing it again.
But oh my god pls no metalworks

I agree that last is bad (not even the worst we have though), but mid and 2 are really fucking good imo

It probably won't get finished on time. Also, when we pugged it, we thought it was bad but had potential. Look at its thread for more detail.

I rathered like metalworks from the times I've played on it, so I'd like to see it stay. So I guess that means either gpit or koth_viaduct to go.
I would love to see Yukon again. Though I haven't tried out any of the new maps like cp_wetcoal yet.

what if we had a completely new map pool? we've been playing badlands, granary, gpit, snakewater, gullywash, and viaduct since the beginning of time.

We need completely new maps for a completely new map pool. Sponsoring a competitive mapmaking contest for 6s might be fun.

but seriously, I'd love to see Yukon back. it wasn't a bad map.

I think the weakest map in the rotation this season is sadly gravelpit. Gravelpit has been a staple in the map rotation set since Season 1 and has always proven to be a great tie-breaker map due to the stopwatch config. However I just feel that there is a bit too much predictability in the strategy and timings now. Sure every map has that predictability but it is especially so nowadays on Gpit. Also there isn't that dynamic push-pull and a constant tug of war like you would see in a 5cp or KOTH map. Still, there were some great Gpit matches this season and being the map that it is it brings some of the most exciting matches from a spectator perspective including FT vs. Vector. That could also be a reason to get rid of the map, as it could be argued that Vector wouldn't have won that matchup on a 5cp. It's also interesting to note that Gpit has been voted out of the rotation in both ETF2L and OzFortress.
Metal works is a great map as we saw this season and should stay in the rotation. It is honestly one of the most unique maps due to the interesting flank from 2 to 3 and the design of the second point is very interesting. Also last point is decent to push out of right now.
As far as replacements maps go, options are limited. To remind everyone, the maps Well, Freight, Warmfront, and Yukon were all voted out of the rotation long ago because last points were impossible to push out of and were stalematey/not fun to play. Well has a second point that wasn't much fun and Freight has spawn issues. Yukon had an interesting mid and is similar to Gullywash because the tunnel/flank cuts behind the main choke. But Yukon's last was extremely difficult to push into as the large geometry meant your uber would get forced early and then easily kited. Pushing out of last was a nightmare as there was only one true entrance from which to push out.
I think one of the best options is to keep the current rotation until a better map is developed. This was honestly one of the best seasons as far as map rotations go.

Also no word from me on the new Standin but I personally hated that map. Plus it is awful from a casting perspective as you can't watch multiple points at once. It would have to be amazingly good to get into this solid rotation.
As much as I hate playing gravelpit, I think it should stay. It is interesting for spectators, has more offclassing which attracts more pub/hl viewers, and adds variety to the map rotation.
I'm with Mr. Slin, I'd rather keep this rotation than vote out a decent+ map and try a new map that could end up being as bad as ashville. Maybe replacing maps with pro versions/spawn-fixes should be all that is done this off season, if that ends up being a thing.
