So I don't know if this has been done before, but me and my friends were curious and calculated the percentage of our lives that was spent on TF2.
I'm 16 (although probably closer to 16.5 but I just rounded it down) and have 3679 hours on TF2.
So I worked out how many hours 16 years is, and worked out the percentage my TF2 hours take up using this site.
Turns out 2.6% of my life has been spent on TF2 ahahahah im dead inside (7% of my life has been spent on TF2 in the last 6 years, which is when I started playing the game.

4% apparently omg
but I doubt all of my hours are actual play time, so if you add up my class hours then about 2%
about 17% of the last 4 years. (8.5% if you count class time)
worth it

A third of your day is spent asleep too, so even higher for the time awake
Also 5% since starting the game, 1.4% of life

don't calculate ur % it will just make u depressed trust me
1.3% just on tf2, around 2.3% on competitive video games in general.
What's a little more worrying is that if I do the maths starting from when I first played tf2 (which was my first competitive video game) the numbers come out as 7.4% for tf2 and 13.5% for video games in general.

3% my whole life, 9.6% since I started playing 6 years ago
2.7% of my life spent developing RSI, practicing very specific and untransferable arm movements and learning concepts for an abstract contrived game, nice
Overall in my life (22yo), going by steam playtime (4200h) - 2.1%. Going by class hours (2300) - 1.2%
In the 6 years that I've been playing, 7.9% by steam playtime, 4.3% by class hours.
And that's just game time, you can't forget about tftv, twitch and waiting for pugs/lobbies
Eh, 5% of my time in the last 6 years ain't bad for a hobby. Idk why everyone sees it as depressing I mean fuck, you literally sleep through 1/3 of your life and imagine all the time you "waste" by showering, shaving, brushing your teeth, cooking, vacuuming, doing laundry, commuting. If you wanna look at life that way, 5% of your time on a hobby isn't much at all.

3.33% of my 16.47 year old life span has ostensibly been dedicated to amusing myself with the second iteration of the Team Fortress 2 series... but just remember...

Going off of profile hours - 5.8% total life, 23.4% since I started.
Going off of total class hours - 2.6% total life, 10.4% since I started.
Dang.

only 2.8% over 20 years, and 11.3% over the 5 years i played ouch......
u can decrease the % if u uninstall and never play again (((((very handy tip))))))
3.8% of life 17.25% of my life since i started playing
I have been alive for almost 122,735 hours exactly, or 14 years. And I have 1918 hours on TF2, and this is considering my 6 month break from TF2, I have been playing TF2 for 0.63% of my life, but I probably fucked up the math. And I probably have been investingmore time into the game since Gun Mettle, so that came out on July 5th, 2015 which was 795 days ago, 19080 hours / 1918 so 9.9% of my life since 2 years ago was spent playing tf2. And you know what, I don't want it back.
i probably fucked up the math tho
i probably fucked up the math tho
I would like to know rocketman's % because that man lives and breathes tf2
Almost 2% total, ~6.5% since I started even including an almost year-long break now (there were times I was consistently playing 65-85 hours a week). Wish i could put in time spent organizing events/ watching streams/ traveling to lans/ etc.
Only regret is not spending more time when I had the chance.
