Is tf2 mega laggy for anyone else after update?

Going offline or launching the game when i'm offline makes my game crash and the only way to fix it is the logout/log back in since alt-tabbing or ctr-alt-delete doesn't get out of the tf2 window

(literally all you have to do is change a number from one to two)

It will remove the friends menu from the main menu, fixing the problem, just tested and it works!

im getting much less fps tho. I usually get around like 1000fps in local servers on a jump map, but im only getting around 300. DM servers are like less than 100fps

I however dont know if the party system works with steam overlay invites or just from the ingame friends list invites, so by removing the friends list you might be removing your ability to invite people to a party.
