Hi, recently, I've been having HELLA UNSTABLE VERY BAD GROSS frame drops/game stuttering. It's been at least a few weeks, maybe months (I am not the best at paying attention). It happens more when I stream, but it still happens regardless.
I built this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zN9vhq at the end of March/beginning of April, and it works great.
But my usually 250-350+ frames now drop down to <40 every few seconds and it's extraordinarily frustrating.
I've done this to try to fix:
- Validate TF2 files (~50 were missing, wtf, problem not fixed though)
- Updated GPU
- Updated Windows
- Cleaned physical PC
- Checked temperatures (here and here, as examples tonight while I was streaming & playing tf2)
- Checked CPU/memory usage (all good)
- Removed config and tried the 3 different net settings (use Comanglia config)
I could pick out better examples, but here was a clip of during a pug just to see my frames etc.
I'm at a loss, and maybe I thought I checked something but didn't do it thoroughly enough etc.
Any ideas?

Have you tried maxing everything?
With better computers if you put low settings, your game will run a LOT worse,So try Running TF2 on high settings and just don't bother with the comanglia and all that configs. It's same on lots of source games the higher the settings the more fps.

see if your CPU/GPU clock speeds get lower and if they coincide with the frame drops

The max CPU and GPU temps in those screenshots aren't from a game/loaded state. Make sure HWMonitor is on during your game and check the max temperatures after you've experienced those 40FPS drops.
Do you get the same drops in a synthetic benchmark like Unigine Heaven? If you're playing in windowed mode, does switching to fullscreen mode help?

However, I doubt it has to do with graphics settings. You wouldn't drop that much because of anything in-game. More likely a hardware or OS issue.

I did three more things:
1) used mastercomfig
2) finally got around to overclocking my cpu (3.0->3.7hz)
3) installed AMD chipset drivers
I've played 3 pugs and my frames are CONSISTENT AF AT LIKE 250/300 now. We'll see if it stays. Since I did them all at the same time, I don't know which helped the most.
I'll be back if it happens again:)

higher clock speeds were probably what helped, i remember guyehh was complaining about fps issues with ryzen until i had him oc his rig
