Was a duck rabbit amber ale. What was yours, and what recommendations do you have for someone who can now finally buy beer?

edit: also looking 4 tips to improve my mousepad cleaning

My favourites are probably Leffe and La Trappe.

La Trappe is pretty hard to find in North America, but most liquor stores carry Leffe.

Heineken is shit. Don't drink it.

don't drink any mass-produced beer, it's like dirty water.

It's more that being underage limits your options.

Have you been to the Ommegang brewery before? I have family near Cooperstown so i've been there myself. Not 21 so I can't comment on the beer but the brewery was a pretty cool tour.

I have not but if I'm ever in the area I'll check it out. Considering it's my favorite beer it should be pretty cool.

One of the best I've had was Great Lakes Brewing Company Christmas Ale. It's one of the hardest beers to find to the point that stores sellout the day they get them by 10AM the same day

I like Railbender, Arrogant Bastard, and there are some Samuel Adams that are good. Imperial White was the most recent one I've had.

^ both idiots, don't listen to them

if you like ales and wanna dive right into really good craft beer i recommend checking out lagunitas from california. also sierra nevada is nice solid intro to craft with ales as well. the torpedo ipa is always great, one of the first i had years ago. also as john said dogfish head is a good start as well. they make solid IPA's pick up the 60minute IPA, eventually you can get the stronger ones like he posted the 120 min (lol) that has a nice kick but might be too harsh for a start

http://i.imgur.com/uHZPTDp.jpg

they make great ipa's and pale ales i'm sure you'll enjoy them. they have quite a bitter kick but nothing too overwhelming for someone just getting into craft

when you start to build a stronger palate you should check out these breweries

founders, sixpoint, three floyds, cigar city, hill farmstead, russian river, the alchemist, ballast point etc

ales are a nice start you can drink amber/pale ales, eventually dip into IPA's which are really hoppy/strong, double ipa's higher ABV % really bitter but these will grow on you as you dip into more types of craft

when you start to grow curious about heavier beers like stouts and porters, imperial porters etc you should definitely check out founders. that shouldn't be hard to find and it will give you a nice introduction to heavier stuff. bourbon barrel aged beers etc

any other questions just add me

This is my absolute favorite, although it might only be available in the northwest.
