After a decent season, Velocity eSports have adopted a back-to-basics approach, bringing back two familiar faces and one up-and-coming player for the upcoming season of ESEA.
After briefly being replaced by sighguy for last season’s playoffs, Jarrett has returned as the starting Demoman and one of the star players for Velocity eSports. Next, following the speedy departure of speedy for Mentality eSports, Kryptonite has reunited with their long-time compatriots on the familiar role of Pocket Soldier. Kryptonite previously played with Velocity eSports from Seasons 25 to 27, before taking a season-long stint with the aforementioned Mentality.
Finally, with bo4r stepping down to focus on school, shamoo has shifted over to the Flank Scout role to accommodate for midas, who joins Velocity eSports after multiple seasons under the black swan banner.
Team captain and co-owner shamoo gave us a brief rundown on the latest iteration of the team.
Kryptonite has a long history with Velocity, so when speedy left for Mentality (and we wish him the best of luck with that), we needed a Pocket. And, when he became available, we instantly wanted to try for a reunion.
Midas is someone who has a lot of potential, and we've looked at as an option in past seasons, and we knew bo4r was stepping down this offseason for schoolwork, so he became a pretty obvious target for us. We’re really happy we can finally get the chance to play with him.
This roster has a lot of room to grow again and we hope we can bounce back from last season where none of us were really happy with our performance.
Velocity eSports' refreshed roster is now:
- Scout: midas
- Scout: shamoo
- Roamer: Rekuso
- Pocket: Kryptonite
- Demoman: Jarrett
- Medic: Skye
