How can i enable the killfeed, ammo when healling, floating names, floating health bar, chat and the tf2 medal?
i keep getting ridiculous stuttering every time someone join or disconnects from a server

Me too :/ It must have something to do with models being loaded on demand? It happens as soon as players join teams or change classes.

it happens way more in a full mge server and it seems to occur even when nobody is joining or leaving. so maybe it is caused by class switching. when im scrimming I get far less stutters.
edit* ive been looking into this a lot. possible solutions ive tested/am going to test: are downloading new graphics drivers, including using DDU to full wipe my drivers first, clean install, my monitor cable needing to be re plugged in/replaced, faulty ram, i have tested cowmanglia and mastercomfig, going to try rhapsody
edit** i think that its a hardware/driver problem, i get stuttering in dota 2 as well. gonna order new cable for monitor see if that fixes it

I've been looking into this issue more and i'm certain its a HUD problem. Try this for me:
- Create a LAN server
- Use makeshift binds for adding bots eg. bind "m" "tf_bot_add 1" and bind "n" "tf_bot_kick all"
- Firstly, I want you to move your mouse in a smooth motion, whilst spamming your "bot add" bind. Notice that you'll get a few stutters from doing this.
- Kick all bots from the server and repeat the same process but this time, hold TAB whilst doing so. Notice how you will no longer stutter each time the scoreboard refreshes.
I think that the way TF2 handles custom folders is very much "on-demand"; everything is loaded as and when it happens. I'm not yet sure if the results are different without a custom HUD.

Use this command: tf_use_match_hud 0
Let me know if your game stops stuttering.
Turns out it was this thing all along that was causing problems.

thanks so much. the command stopped a lot of the stuttering I was getting. I was still getting a little stuttering so I bought a new cable for my monitor. With the new cable I get no stuttering. Thanks for the help!

I recently cleared my user settings with the installer, and now footsteps don't make any noise wether or not the setting is put to on or off [yes i applied]. mp_foosteps is on 1 and I have the "high" audio setting. Any way to fix this ?
Fun story: I just realized I have played the game without surround for like 1.5 years without noticing.
EDIT: 1 week later, still need advice

I'm using bind and crosshair setting stuff from cfg.tf
I just got the low preset and they just stopped working...
Any ideas? Maybe somewhere i can add them for it to work?

Do you have a cfg file called custom.cfg? You'll need that instead of autoexec for mastercoms to work.

don't know if you've been informed about this or not
when you scroll up in the window you get double the options

Try resetting your mastercomfig settings within the settings page.

how to make it not change my interp when i install it
Hey guys, today I would like to officially announce that mastercomfig specifically is cancelled. I have some exciting plans in the future to provide a much more useful service that encompasses all that mastercomfig provides, and more. I'm currently in the planning stages for this idea, but it will allow me to be less reliant on TF2 specifically and also give much more benefits than just some value tweaking. It will also make updates less dependent on me and use the power of the community.
Jynxiihow to make it not change my interp when i install it
Put your preferred net settings in custom.cfg.

Hi,
Yesterday I've installed mastercomfig low to update my 2013 Chris config, and I've been encountering a visual error ever since.
I have some sort of 'light circle' around me, its especially noticeable on light-themed maps such as process. When I move around with my movement keys or even only my mouse, the light spreads on walls, props, etc..
Here are some pictures: https://imgur.com/a/EGVA4tE
The 'circle' is above my crosshair on the first picture (its more noticeable when you move), on the first and second screenshots you can see the issue very clearly on the wall that has 3 vents on it. For the record, I did not have that issue with my Chris config.
Things I've tried: using different lighting/effects/shadows/particles modules, manually changing fog commands, using different dxlevels (81 is what I use, I tried 95 & 91 and still had the issue).

mastercomsr_worldlightmin 0.0002
just tried with r_worldlightmin 0.0002 in my custom.cfg and checked it went through in console, issue remains..
EDIT: it might be worth noting that I don't get any visual changes from trying out different r_worldlightmin values in console

Now that this has no official support anymore, does anyone have a very basic no aliases (or few) non vpk version?
I found a fix so I'll post it here in case other people have the same issue later on:
mat_filtertextures 1
mat_trilinear 1
degu had the right idea, although mat_trilinear 1 didn't fix anything until mat_filtertextures was set to 1. Enjoying the config otherwise!

Whenever I get kritz, my weapons start to flicker with brighter color instead of simply glowing with it. Is there a way to fix it? On older PC, I used to get just crit sparks instead of glow and it was fine.
I'm using low preset and dx81.

Here's a very experimental config with some settings/values I want to test out. No presets, just experimenting with optimizations. It'll probably work best on modern PCs with GPUs though. Not sure.
Note that custom.cfg is now user/autoexec.cfg. Also rename your class configs back to not use _c.

I have got a question wether tf2s "rate" setting limits client-server download or upload bandwidth. In mastercomfig-cfg file it says its upload speed but on csgo the same cvar is for download because when i change the "new" setting in csgo menu options called "max acceptable game traffic bandwidth" which has a description clearly saying it controls download bandwidth, it changes the "rate" cvar alongside. Help plz

It's upload and download. This is also why it says game traffic (two ways). Download is much more important than upload because it's not used as much in tbe engine for upload purposes.
