crib_Visyou should not be so sensitive - this is the internet, you cannot expect it to be totally friendly at any given time.
Its much harder to ignore constant targeted harassment than a random person on the internet saying a slur. She did block him and call him out, and he kept on doing it for over a year.
From reading both sides of the argument, the harassment seems to not have even been constant. Even if it was, a fairly content person would not get affected by the opinion of others over the internet. I'm by no means defending whatever Scratchh or his friends did, but her life will be unnecessarily harder is she to get affected simply by strangers in a videogame. Barely dealing with this, how would she cope with the situation if it happened in real life? That's why she needs to learn not to be so sensitive, nobody will caress her with a feather

Where did you even read me telling all the trans people to stop being so sensitive? I told this particular person so, because the reasons over which they got upset are really nothing compared to what other people are subject to, this is the lightest form of harassment she has endured and it already hit her very badly. God v!s you are actually so fucking dumb and it’s mind boggling how you lack the basic empathy it takes to understand anyone in this situation. One simple thing you can’t seem to get pass through your thick skull is that you’re not allowed to dictate how someone feels. If something bothers someone you don’t tell them “well it shouldn’t.” That is something even a kindergartener can understand. People like you are why people keep getting away like this in our community. You’d rather everyone keep quiet and hope a force with power will MAGICALLY find out what is going on. Some of these people don’t even get the same right as you do to just browse the internet and have fun. Not only is there this OP but multiple members of the community who have to deal with this shit EVERY DAY. Telling them to stay silent and just “ignore it” is ignorant and anyone who thinks that was truly the only way to prevent any of this are probably the type who also stay in silence and just let it go.
Also another thing a kindergartner would understand is when MULTIPLE people are telling you that you’re wrong and you feel the need to defend yourself down to the most minor of points - you’re probably fucking wrong. Of course as we all know, your ego is too big and too precious to even come close to admit you’re “even remotely wrong” about a situation like this.

kyaauh i get more harassment than this when i join mge servers every day by scratch and his retrards, but you dont see me making a thread about it, theyre actual children who just wanna see you get mad. if you are falling for their bait then thats more ur fault than theirs
trannys think they're gods or something that cant be made fun of, yall need to grow thicker skin
lmfao how is your take on "there's too much harassment in this community" to just be like "yeah this happens everytime I play mge"
like clearly this type of behaviour isn't fucking normal in well adjusted individuals

ScratchhI said this, I didn’t defend myself. I openly admitted that what I did was wrong and I apologized like 4 times in the post. My post was entirely based on me clearing up misconceptions and false information.
I don't think this was the intention but when I read it, it comes off a bit as "I apologize for it, but it didn't happen, or it wasn't a big deal, or it wasn't me, or it was your fault it happened." A lot of it can easily be taken as a defense, so I can't blame anyone for taking it as you defending yourself.
e: in retrospect this was giving way too much benefit of the doubt, now that the thread's been locked and scratch doubled down hard, I'd like to make it clear that his "apology" shouldn't fly

Why is this met with "ok harassment sucks but the real problem here is how much she dislikes being harassed, I think she should be harassed more before she gets upset" and not "why the fuck is there harassment in our small community?"
However much harassment you think someone should be able to take is completely moot because we should strive to not have harassment in the first place.

Your reading skills are actually COMPLETELY lacking, holy fucking shit. The empathy that I might express will not help her as much as a SOLID piece of advice that she should try to adopt. Where did you even READ that I said she MUST feel one way or another? When I tell her that she SHOULD be less sensitive, this means that she SHOULD set it as a milestone to achieve in the future. If something bothers someone and it shouldn't bother them, you DO tell them "it shouldn't bother you", because it literally shouldn't.

Your thinking capacity is indeed restricted to such of a kindergartener when you fail to realise that none of the points stated from other people manage to present any solid arguments against my point, but instead either say something true but off-topic, or they simply don't even understand what I've said - much like yourself. I don't fucking care if you are part of LGBT+ Nursey, when your personality is absolutely trash as you have already proven multiple times, I will not show any kind of respect towards you.

PJCDude, you told a trans person who is being harassed for being trans to stop being so sensitive. I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand why that's a really stupid thing to say.
What I did was tell her that the slurs and offenses she receives over a videogame should be ignored by her, and that she SHOULD NOT be so sensitive. I did not say "Stop being so sensitive". English is your first language I'm genuinely amazed that you do not see the difference.
I don't know what kind of worlds you live in, but here nobody is going to take special care of your feelings later in life. Obviously changing how much you get affected by something is not done overnight - it takes times, and that is what the person in particular should aim for. Because one day it might happen to her in real life, and if she barely manages to cope with it in a videogame, the effects from bumping into it first hand would be devastating.

In an ideal world both of them would be dumped into a small room, forcefed a bunch of mdma while ambient works 85-92 is playing, and let out after they hatefucked each other to exhaustion and made up.

You can't really tell someone who is being harassed what they should or shouldn't be feeling when you're not them and you can't relate to their circumstances, you're victim blaming.

Vis, you are engaging in victim blaming. Although I can partially empathize with your logic and see where you're coming from, I don't agree with it.
The problem is the people who are being disrespectful to another human being in the first place, not the people who respond to it by being upset.
The best solution to this problem is to treat it at the source, not to deny people their feelings or experiences.

"Harassment in this community"
What's the community got to do with the individual actions of a couple edgelords?
>Getting mad about taunts
rly m8
>Engaging people you dislike instead of blocking them
It's like you want to fight and if the guy's post in first page is true then it seems like it
https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/273/406/076.png
The only thing worth reading here is the potential harassment and potential death threats, both of which should be reported (and I doubt that's even the case). I really don't see this being much more than a couple of dicks memeing. I don't see why this has to come to the attention of the whole community. What's your aim here? Is there some infective toxic virus in the community that has be addressed and dealt with or are you just using us as leverage for some dumb squabble? I doubt the former and believe the latter.
Christ, I'm not even telling you to grow a thicker skin and neither am I saying that such things aren't hurtful, but there's more mature ways to handle this than farming online virtue signalling points. You don't need us to deal with it on your behalf, do it yourself and move on.

y'all acting like this specific case is separate from every other case of harassment we've been through before. sure, it might not be the same people involved and for different reason. harassment isn't restricted to only trans people. or when the tagg drama (and every other black racism drama) happened, it's not only restricted to black people. or it's not just jews, when the ban pred & degu thread came up. i might not have been there for most of them and that thought scares me.
there are a lot of forms of harassment, there are a lot of possible demographics that can be harassed for many different reasons. and none of them are acceptable. it's crazy that there are some people who would unironically (even ironically is bad) defend harassment.
you can't judge the victim unless you've been in their situation. being under constant fire means you get better at recognizing different forms of harassment and recognizing specific people who take great pleasure in doing it. these people get more and more creative with each passing day, until you reach the point where their simple presence is putting a great mental strain on the victim. it doesn't have to be black and white insults for it to be unacceptable. there's no "acceptable degree of harassment".

Its very easy to say "lol its the internet its not real lmaoooo" when you're not part of a minority group that some people literally would enjoy nothing more than to beat you senseless and kill you irl (and I can think of a few instances in just the past few weeks of targeted violence against trans youth just in the UK), then to only go onto the internet and see that exact same rhetoric again.
Tell the 41% of trans people that will attempt suicide within their lifetime that words can't hurt you and they're not real. When your entire identity is constantly under attack wherever you go, it is real. It's obviously impossible to police the entire fucking internet, but there's like 10 people in this community. You can actually do something.
edit: On a personal level, since this community is so comparatively microcosmic and insular to other games, an individual who contributes to targeted harassment implicitly or explicitly has quantifiable impact if they become more empathetic to the struggles of other people
