Its to reduce bias in surveys. I.e. people clicking all the way down the left/right/middle regardless of question.
Just be glad they didnt do it in a random order to avoid extreme response bias.

tbh i feel the survey overdiagnosed me in the direction of escapism but everything is self reported so i guess i answered wrong.

also, what was the deal with the questions at the end about feelings of hopelessness/depression/nervousness etc, but it never asks you about anything that might be causing it? I feel like this is going to produce a correlation-causation problem about video games and depression.

i think it was probably more to support the existence of gaming as a coping technique
