the social features are kinda sick and I've actually found a lot of new things through the new interface, like games are getting updates that I didn't even know were getting updates and now you can know
Some of the search and store integration is better, some sorting options are better.
Like every modern UI:
-The person who designed it is as dense as a neutron star; sadly the same cannot be said for the information density of their UI design
-Opacity and shading are awful gimmicks
-Giant pictures of a product taking up half the page are not "stylish"
-Runs like a quadriplegic
-Half of the page(and loading time) is taken up by tiled social media horse shite

they released an update yesterday that lets you drastically improve the performance of the new library
go to settings>library and check "low bandwidth mode" and "low performance mode"
with these two checked i experience no lag

Wouldn't mind if it didn't crash daily for me. Overlay shows 0 friends online, and when Steam crashes, TF2 goes with it.
I'm using that old UI posted earlier until they get their shit together

As someone with a potato laptop, even with the low-performances options ticked TF2 and other games all take around 2-3 minutes more than usual. I used one of the fixes provided here to go back to the old UI, but I do wish that Valve would not forget that even today, a lot of players might still play on outdated machines and simply add an op-out button for this sort of stuff.
i like it a lot i think it looks nice and frankly anyone who complains about the design and not the lag issues (which have been fixed) is a moron

oh yes a UI where 80% of the space is useless information with no modularity is TOTALLY good UI design. I bet you like Metro UI.
