Due to the spread of COVID-19, the staff at Copenhagen Games have unfortunately been forced to cancel the upcoming Copenhagen Games 2020 LAN.
The viral outbreak has been quickly worsening across Europe, for example in Italy and Spain, leading other countries to take as many measures as possible against the virus. Denmark has made the decision to close its borders for one month, and has banned gatherings of over 100 people for the entirety of March. The CPG staff at expect these regulations to be extended into April, making a LAN event impossible.
In the Copenhagen Games Discord, dalegaard provided important information on how to deal with the fallout in the wake of the cancellation.
First of all, at this point in time there is no need to request a refund of your tickets or rentals. This will all be handled automatically for you soon, but as lots of things are happening right now, please allow some time for this process.
At this point we recommend that you, if you booked flight and/or accommodation, contact the airline/hotel and request a refund.
On behalf of all of Copenhagen Games and the TF2 crew, I'd like to thank you all for the support you've shown the event. While we're sad that CGTF2 isn't going to go ahead this year, health and safety must take priority.
We are looking for any possibility to postpone the event to later on during 2020, and will get back to you as soon as we have any info about this.
