For the past eight years, teamfortress.tv has been the self-proclaimed home of competitive TF2, providing news, coverage, and enigma's rent payment. As our writers continue to disappear under suspicious circumstances, we're looking to expand our news coverage with some new faces!
Job Description:
Writers will cover important events in the competitive TF2 scene, including roster changes, league announcements, and LAN events. This typically involves research, contacting relevant individuals for a quote, and compiling all the information together in a concise and entertaining fashion.
Beyond that, we are also looking for some innovative ideas to spice up our news coverage. If anyone has an interesting topic or even an op-ed they are interested in writing about, feel free to reach out!
While we will not be able to compensate you monetarily, teamfortress.tv can provide excellent exposure™, the ability to brag about having top players on your friend's list, and the elusive fifth nerdstar. Long-time staff members may also be invited to the TFTV Illuminati, which ensures the scene is stagnant and Valve doesn't give us Majors.
Qualifications:
- Ability to write complete sentences
- Basic understanding of English grammar
- At least 69 hours in Team Fortress 2
- High competence with bad puns and pop-culture references
Like to haves:
- High tolerance to shitposting¹
- High tolerance to French people¹
- 12 years of Golang experience
- 5+ nerdstars on teamfortress.tv
- At least 3 Pulitzer Prizes
- A cool af mechanical keyboard (with RGB backlighting)
Interested applicants can apply² via TFTV PM or Discord (Recurse#7979). Please attach a nerd essay to show your writing talents specific to TF2. This could be about a fictional or past roster change, an emotional dissertation on the state of our scene, or anything else related to competitive TF2.
Along with writers, teamfortress.tv is always looking for casters, analysts, and producers for its live competitive coverage! To apply for our production division, you can contact louster200 aka "The Chad" for more information.
