#39 iT Servers Shutting Down in TF2 General Discussion

Aw that sucks. Thanks a ton for hosting them so long out of pocket. You've done a lot to promote jumping and surfing. Hopefully some other servers will pop up to take their place.

#30 R.I.P Tobi in TF2 General Discussion

Wow. Tobi gave me my avatar in a pug a long time ago, and I've been backing up for his team this season. Always a nice guy and great player. Rest in peace dude, hope they have tf2 in heaven.

#55 CEVO Community Meeting in TF2 General Discussion

1) How does the Anti-Cheat work? Without "injection" into the game, how does CEVO approach the problem of catching cheaters who play in their league. I know demo reviews were brought up, but what is the client doing to help aid the process?

I'm curious to know more about this. Never worrying about TF2 updates would be amazing, but how effective is it without injecting into the game? Demo reviews are nice, but I'm afraid of having an NA powah. I guess I'm asking whether or not it's worth the tradeoff.

yeah, i'd imagine it wouldn't be as good in higlander because you can't really use cac, milk, or bonk with it, even the pocket pistol is crippling when you have to rely on your secondary so much

I can't really say since I just run regular pistol and wrap assassin in hl lobbies (I don't really play actual hl). But if it's not as useful in a situation that promotes its strengths I don't think it would be useful in 6s, where a lot is working against it.

My beef with it is the fake downsides. They should just make it a speed boost that resets on double jump in exchange for 2 shots, and default speed is regular. That's basically what it is now, minus the reset. They just obfuscated the actual meaning so it didn't sound as bald.

Also it's a fun gun

FzeroPlatinumFzeroLet me ask this about top level tf2 play and those people that goes to LANs, if it's honestly that important to you, are you willing to completely pay for the trip completely out of your own pocket?
I'm just wondering where the line is? Is going to LAN so important to not ask for a single donation?

Thats what we have done for the past 4 seasons.

I actually thought to myself if I would have to explain, other than two teams that will get their money back, but I assumed that would be a given.

No you didn't.

4812622the bfb isn't about running forward slightly faster

it's about being like 20% better at dodging

which is HUGE as a scout

and yeah losing two shots is a big downside but i feel like the speed boost needs to be seen to be believed because it seems kinda underwhelming on paper but it's actually amazing

I did see it.

It's just a lobby, but it's on Lakeside (which is really good for it) and I'm still pretty confident I could have done more with a scattergun. I had to ditch a lot of fights because I missed my first shot, and I could almost never kill the heavy. I think anything short of a completely wide open area will see the scattergun as the better option.

I did, however, enjoy making the engineer's life hell, because I could run in and out of mini sentry range fast enough to kill people.

you move so, so ridiculously fast

Into a choke point where you die. There's no utility for the speed on 5cp because you should be playing with your team. Viaduct is too small for it to matter, so that leaves Coalplant. Besides, two shots is a lot to lose.

That being said I think the changes are dumb. What's even the point of moving slightly slower than normal speed? And what's the point of only losing a small portion of boost on jump? I think the only thing people asked for was that they could jump once without losing boost. I don't understand Valve.

WariMR_SLINLike I said i'm in favor of not killing TF2 so whichever option keeps it alive is fine with me but I'm doubtful that everyone would migrate over.
Tons of teams have shown that they're willing to migrate though. Read any of the threads supporting CEVO. Main, IM, and open teams are all willing to migrate. The skill level of comp tf2 will be preserved, as the same people are going to be playing, just in a different league.

Tons of teams have SAID they're willing to migrate. Nobody has shown anything.

EDIT: Damn Lange

#214 AG Supports CEVO in Expanded League in TF2 General Discussion
RRPAllealThe reason UGC is low level is because UGC is free. Other free leagues and divisions will be just the same.
*cough* ETF2L *cough*

*unless there's a vacuum in the space a dominate league would be. So as long as their is a paid alternative, UGC and other free NA leagues will stay low skill.

This would be intersting to see but my main point was a free league with a high skill level then UGC would appeal to UGC players and could make CEVO really big.
