gonna say that those barriers are too low too. the map makes me feel claustrophobic. opening up the mid more would make me feel better.

#25 New KOTH map! in Map Discussion
kawaiiAllealSabermake two versions

one in which the midpoint is a spire

I kind of really really want to see what a koth map with a spire for cap would play like. Someone should do this.

the map will need big sightlines, cause if there weren't any, a heavy could just stand on point with a dispenser and shoot down anyone

yea. trying to picture what the surrounding area would look like. Wouldn't want to hold right on the spire for obvious reasons. maybe ill try to figure out hammer cuz this sounds like a fun project.

#16 esports in Esports
OhMyZeusHe says in the video that esports lacks story.

No he didn't, he said that esports lack framework that promotes the story.

And he's right. But the TF2 community correctly identified this as the problem early on, and have been working to fix it. And we've had phenomenal results. Stream viewership is at an all time high, and so are the amount of streamers. Scheduled tf.tv casts look extremely professional, and Bluee's amazing outline plugin has made spectating and casting a hell of a lot easier. The only two other things I'd like to see implemented for spectators is a functional map (which is already in progress, if I remember correctly), and some sort of instant replay function (I have no idea how that'd work).

All other promotion and improvement of the game would happen outside of the actual game and casts. I liked the idea of compiling statistics for high level players in order to give spectators some perspective.

#8 Playing against full time heavy on gullywash? in TF2 General Discussion

Losing to a heavy usually means you're rushing your pushes and not playing together. Running a heavy means that they won't be doing anything quickly, and it also means that their flank is going to be weaker. Play methodically and with your heals to use that to your advantage. When you're ready to kill the heavy, focus fire him, and when you're not, focus fire anything else. It takes a lot of the medic's attention to keep a Heavy buffed since he can't dodge, which gives you the opportunity to frag other classes (especially scouts/roamer).

Also gully is an excellent sniper map, so countering the heavy with sniper will work well if you play conservatively and around your sniper.

#26 5cp vs KOTH vs A/D: Map Variety Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

I'm gonna have to agree with Lansky on both points. Koth and AD won't get attention from teams unless they're more relevant to the overall outcome of a season. And when they're only played once, they aren't. Koth definitely has a better shot at producing some good matches, and there's a wider pool of maps to choose from.

I'd like to see some of the lesser competitive leagues like UGC, CEVO, and even IGL to force encourage their teams to play matches on experimental maps. There'd be a lot more feedback that way.

#38 Carnage Cut? in TF2 General Discussion

He played a pretty damn good season, but I saw attitude conflicts coming a mile away after watching a couple of streams.

Hopefully he finds a compatible team for next season, so we can see some more of the strong scouting we saw the last few weeks.

#18 Xbox 180, Xbox One will no longer feature bad DRM in Off Topic

They pretty much showed their hand though, with their original stance. This change might salvage the xbox1, but it certainly won't make it successful.

#14 quay. // A Fenneks eSports TF2 Frag Movie in TF2 General Discussion

Great video, and an awesome way to showcase the map. I wonder if combos will stop playing so close to that garage after the 6th time a scout jumps up from below and kills them.
