You can't dismiss the other side by saying 'Don't like it don't play it.' Small games like Quake thrive on their community and this just cuts it right down the middle.

It'd be easier to swallow if the new mode somehow eased new players into the real one, but it doesn't.

Call it Classic, and new players will think it's obsolete.
A different, easier, and less effective movement system that doesn't exist in the real game.
An ezmode weapon that doesn't exist in the real game.
etc etc

Actual Quake players will be marginalized and scoffed at by new ones for 'hating new things' and 'can't handle the real game,' if there is ever even a wave of new players.

Is there a template of some kind in place for the instant replays? Definitely need to let the casters know which plays are going to come up, or at least send them a brief summary like "Aporia Mid 4k + pick" or something.

Edit: How about giving the casters some time to talk post game before sending them the replays. Isn't that how TI does it?

Pretty impressive play from 20b. I'd kind of counted them out without cozen and duwatna but im pretty pumped to be proven wrong. Deadbolt performing well on demo and Cyzer obviously making a big difference, but I'd like to see Paragon either up his DM or reign in his aggression. He always seems to be dead at critical moments. Wouldn't mind seeing more sniper from 20b in general since there's so much strong DM to support it.

I'm also curious to know how having cozen instead of thefragile affected XTS. I didn't see anything too obvious but medics can contribute a lot to behind the scenes stuff.
