South Carolina is pretty divided upon the continued flying of the Confederate Bars because the political nature of the states is something unique compared to most of the world.

Many South Carolina residents see the flag as part of its history and something to remain due to its nature as historical and political legacy. Many other residents see it as something reminiscent of slavery and not appropriate or something to be remembered regardless of its historic value.
