#42 Game of Thrones season 7 in Music, Movies, TV
RussianGuyovichSpaceCadetBut isn't Lightbringer already forged and being used? Stannis had the sword already and pulled it from the fire they set on the beach a few seasons ago. I believe the last anyone saw of Stannis and/or the sword was after he lost the battle near Winterfell.

I have not read the books yet, is this one of the instances where the books and the show differ greatly?

That's a fake Lightbringer
Show Content
"The sword is wrong, she has to know that ... light without heat ... an empty glamour ... the sword is wrong, and the false light can only lead us deeper into darkness."
- the dying Maester Aemon, to Samwell Tarly

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Lightbringer

Yeah that sword was clearly not lightbringer lol. Stannis was not the prince that was promised and there is no way he would have the right sword. It was literally just his normal sword that she used magic on. There could be an argument made that Longclaw is lightbringer but even that would be a little iffy.

Doom1This season was pretty awful. Dany burning lannisters and the army of the dead while riding on a dragon while in love with jon was literally a meme to laugh at people who thought got is a fairy tale with happy ending. Well, guess what, it's true. Sad that such a great show ended up like this.

And I'm not even counting this completely absurd suicide mission to send your leaders to capture an undead to show it to cersei. Or Varys being completely useless and having no information for Dany at all ever. Or Arya fighting a woman three times her size with a 2 inch sword and somehow being equal. Or littlefinger not doing anything for entire season and having no real plan until the last two episodes.

I agree with the Varys and Littlefinger and Arya stuff, but the Dany Jon thing was hinted at from the beginning, I don't think both of them will survive.

ponponI don't know how people can like this Jon x Dany relationship, considering they barley knew each other and have like the weakest chemistry. Even in season 5, where Milisandre tries to hook up with Jon, he denies because he still loves Ygritte which shows how her death gave him character dev, now it feels like he gives no fucks in this season. Also why the hell was Tyrion upset in that boatsex scene? Was he jealous, or worried?

He's worried that because Jon and Dany love each other now that their decisions will be clouded. Or he's worried that their child will continue the monarchy and "unbreak the wheel" which is the opposite of the reason he started following Dany.

mustardoverlord7 and svift had pretty much equivalent individual performers, but some of the svift players have pretty disparate playstyles from one another (b4nny likes playing with passive demos and alle likes to aggress, raptor is safer than either of them, smzi and astt are both better at pocket scout than flank scout) which put 7 over the top imo

Tbh I honestly don't see how svift could have possibly won. Raymon is probably the best medic in the game right now, thalash has been playing a lot more than astt, starkie is probably the best flank scout ever.

GentlemanJonBBiA_duchessWhich is probably why they went from one the of the best devs ever to one of the worstHave you read it? It's truly a unique situation. At any given time they might have had multiple separate loose groups of people working on something Half Life related. Could be 3, could be 30. Might have got pretty far, might have gone nowhere. You could even have had groups working against each other.

Ultimately the momentum behind the series leaked away and they went in other directions, ironically some of that probably went on TF2 when it was higher profile.

Yeah I know and it's shit like I said.

GentlemanJonBBiA_duchessThey just don't want to for some reason.Snivy linked this today and I found it a very interesting read about their internal structure which is very rarely talked about

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2017/01/11/searching-for-half-life-3.aspx

The tldr is that it doesn't matter how much money they make, it will never be relevant. The only thing that matters is that whatever social magic is necessary to get a big project supported by a lot of people internally takes place. That usually involves a big influencer like Gaben or other senior people pushing in that direction.

Making single player games or turning TF2 into an esport don't seem to be on many people's agendas.

Which is probably why they went from one the of the best devs ever to one of the worst

I still can't believe after everything that has happened recently with tf2 and now this that there are still people who defend valve and say they don't have enough time/programmers. They have made upwards of 4 billion dollars with a company of 360 people. They have the time, the money, and the people. They just don't want to for some reason.

#31 who is the 2nd best tf2 player ever in TF2 General Discussion
Dr_SpamomanI do not think anyone has more second place finishes than Zebbosai, so that would make him the second best. (Flawless logic).

Also the argument that people needs to play multiple classes is sort of invalid. I have no doubt Mike could destroy on scout, however if you had option to have Mike on your team you would most likely put him on solly. (i know he played demo at i46, however i started to pay attention to comp tf2 after i46.) Very few people talk about Mikes time as demo, can someone say if it because it was bad or just overshadowed by his soldier play?
Same with clockwork, he could probably do good on solly, but putting him on anything other than flank scout would be shooting yourself in the leg. Clockwork played solly very early in his tf2 days. he is featured in one of the Fragged by TLR movies.

I see the multiclass argument however there are people that are so good on their main it is foolish to take them on any other class.

You say that the argument that people need to play multiple classes is invalid, then give examples of people playing multiple classes.

#26 TF2 Blog: "Upcoming Changes to the Case System" in TF2 General Discussion
GentlemanJonZestyWhy do valve release a massive amount of changes to the balance of everything (normally with loads of bugs and the potential of completely breaking the game) every 2 years instead of changing a weapon or 2 every month or so?

Cant wait for some unlock to become completely broken but no need to worry because it'll be fixed by 2020!
I think they're trying to address people bitching from all sides that competitive/traders/casuals/whoever get all the updates and whoever is bitching gets nothing, so they want to release stuff for everyone at once. They're just screwed by having a small team really.

Honestly a lot of this stuff is just completely inexcusable even with the whole "small team" thing. Like how hard is it to move the respawn timer on casual so you can actually see it? It's been like that for a whole fucking year. Do you really need a huge AAA dev team and tons of time to fix shit like that?
