AyRSince when has the word "pro" only meant professional (aka someone who makes money off it, or does it as "their main paid occupation")? Pretty sure a lot of people use the word to describe someone of high skill level at anything!
In terms of the competition itself, what is it? MGE/Bball/etc? Or is it more of a team vs team thing?
This time we do not have enough space and hardware for a proper team tournament. Scout MGE 1v1 is the competition of choice.
Also, I would not lay too much weight onto the word "pro". You know how the media always exaggerates...
DunderBroI wanna watch csgo but I know nothing about the scene.
Can someone do a quick recap of the scene, who to watch out for etc. Is NiP still playig? Are there any 5 man swedish teams I need to blindlessly love like [A]lliance?
NiP is playing and planning to win. DreamHack should be the finale of their reality TV show.
Hai. The TF2 MGE tournament is going to be streamed, yes. I will provide more information later.
Also, I am aware that MGE is not the best way to show off the full potential of TF2 but we had a very limited time- and money budget. Maybe there will be something better in the future?!
skyrideETF2L was a brilliant website and idea that was created in the first few months of TF2's lifespan, which has been passed down along a line of increasingly less competent admins. They've never seen providing any kind of esports element to the game as a goal. Ever since the original German consortium that created it left, it's leadership for any given year has been completely content with providing nothing more than an above average free league with no promotion or hype.
Regardless of what would be the best move for the NA scene, do you even realise how untrue and thankless this statement is? I think you've been too detached from the EU scene for a while to know what was really going on...
Just to clarify: One map per week is perfectly possible in ETF2L. What is not possible is to quickly implement an ESEA-style swiss system or a league system where each team plays each team twice per season.
nerkulWhat's wrong with optional pay to play? I think Canfo was on to something with that.
That ship has sailed
I'm not even running this league anymore ;_;
"What are you gonna do tonight? What do you gonna do for the next 30 minutes that is not sitting in your chair and playing TF2?" - "Oh no, I'll probably smoke a victory blunt" - coL.carnage after reporting a forfeit win in ESEA-I Season 8 when Dynamic's players could not connect to the match server due to client issues
"tbh medic is the easy road to high divs" - Rarespycrab
The2DollarHookerAnyone know wtf chemistry sets actually do when you complete it other than the quality? Or do you finish them purely for the collector's quality
I believe they "strangify" a certain misc item or hat. If you got it equipped and you get kills its rank increases, just like strange weapons.
You'll need a plugin for that. I know there are SourceMod plugins for this but TFTrue works as well.
ETF2L.org occasionally runs Ultiduo tournaments, people also just organise fun tournaments themselves sometimes and announce it in these very forums.
