Thanks for all the kind words and thanks for the offer, Phrakture! FanofAngels messaged me earlier and we arranged for him to mentor me. My search is over, hopefully :)

Hello there! The name's Cathy_Ace, or just Cathy for short. This season will mark my inauguration as a Pocket Soldier for the Open team All I Do Is Win (irony intended). This being my first season in Open means that I've got a lot to learn, so I'd like to enhance and get the most out of my experience by having someone help me along the way. A mentor who could go over demos, strategies, and just general help with the game would be appreciated. And though I may very well turn out to be the worst Pocket in Open, I can assure you that I will always work to improve and listen to any advice.
Whether he was hacking or not, it's really not necessary to make a 12 minute cry-fest that basically says, "Oh, I'm not accusing this guy of hacking because he might actually be good, but I just want to believe that he was hacking so I can feel better about me losing so hard."
Work on improving yourself (i.e. the pretty damn predictable movement) before you go on and make accusations against people who know how to beat your "style" and who use "aimbot" with pipes (lol).
You can access Advanced Options by going into Options, going to the Multiplayer tab and click the Advanced button.
Now cracks a noble heart. Good night sweet prince:
And flights of Invites sing thee to thy rest!
The man may be gone, but his configs shall reign over us forever.
TurinCompulsive Swearing isn't Tourette's, it's Coprolalia. Tourette's is a disorder in which you have any repetitive tick, Coprolalia is when you swear out of control in a ticking manner that's like Tourette's but isn't the same as Tourette's. I have Tourette's but it's all hand motions that I can conceal easily and it's not Compulsive Swearing.
Edited, thanks for the correction! And no offense intended against sufferers of Tourtte's or Coprolalia :P
It warms my heart when sufferers of Coprolalia can come together to support each other and accept that they have a disorder.
When they let you borrow their unusual that you're much to poor to afford just so that the other team thinks you're actually good. <3 U 4ever Pigpen
Don't worry, stultus, that won't be the last pussy you'll cum on! (...or maybe it will be. Condolences.)
If she plays TF2, give her free hats and Steam message her every 5 seconds because you "just want to chat." Apparently a lot of guys think that's romantic.
But for realz, just get her like a puppy or something.
The main thing to take away from all this is that a new mouse won't necessarily make you better, but having a good, reliable one will reduce the barriers to improving. For example, if you play at a high inches per 360, but have a mouse that negatively accelerates easily, then you're going to have a tough time improving your aim at targets that are further away from the center of your screen.
If you get a reliable mouse set up, then you can't use it as an excuse for why you missed this shot or that, and you can more easily evaluate what human and habitual errors interfere with your performance.
For my birthday earlier this month, I bought myself a DeathAdder because it has a reliable sensor (at 1800 DPI) and caters to the grip I like to use. It felt more natural and comfortable than my previous Diamondback 3G, and thus I became much less conscious about how my hand moved and felt during gameplay. I didn't necessarily get better by using it, but I saw that my rate of improvement had increased a bit.
So, yeah, think about getting something reliable. It doesn't have to be some ridiculous thing like the R.A.T 131284521, even a $30 G400 is exceptional. In the world of mice, top dollar does not mean top performance. Also, wired is infinitely preferred.
As far as a mousepad, you're probably going to want to use one because 1.) It'll do your mousefeet a favor and 2.) Consistency is key to getting better.
Might want to look into one of these since size seems to be such an issue:

It's really just a matter of getting an initial kick start of regulars to help maintain the population. People become regulars on servers because it's basically a place they can rely on playing with people they know/are friends with at some point. In turn, having that initial seed entices new people to stay because the server progressively becomes alive and popping. It's the reason why even 2Fort servers are able to stay full a lot of the time. Despite how old and stale the map can become, there is usually a reliable core player base that values playing with other regulars highly and thus the server is prevented from being empty and randoms don't feel the inclination to leave. Then, in turn, those randoms may enjoy the company and come back and become regulars themselves. And thus, a reliable server community is born and the server thrives in the midst of all the other servers that are technically identical to it.
When I first started my community and server, I remember throwing events which made groups of friends come back and helped start the growth of my community (and actually, those groups of friends started to conjoin with the other groups of friends and now it's just one huge conglomeration of butt-buddies). So, yeah, 'might wanna look into hosting some events, or maybe have the group advertise to come and play. But the latter might have only mild success nowadays, considering how much other groups spam "COME PLAY ON THIS SERVER!" which a lot of people ignore.
EDIT: Using 2Fort was a bad example. Those servers stay full because it's the sniperz_ridge for people who don't know how to use the filter function of the server browser. Replace the above example with 24/7 Dustbowl.
