#16 Friendly Fire? in TF2 General Discussion

If I remember correctly clients don't predict teammates movement that well. (i.e. something doesn't work right with interpolation/extrapolation)

#27 144hz monitor reccomendations in Hardware
SetsulThere's not a whole lot of reviews yet.
BenQ is weird, no FreeSync, no G-Sync, no Lightboost. Pretty poor at that price.
No idea about the Acer.

Generally all of them have worse colours than 120/144/165/180Hz monitors.
Highest overshoots = worst colours, but lowest response time on the AOC. Your only option with FreeSync though.
Asus a bit less overshoots, a bit better colours, but higher response time. G-Sync.

really cause I thought the 240Hz TNs had basically the same color accuracy as the 144Hz TN panels, with marginally less overshoot (at least in the case of the PG258Q), I was also particularly surprised by how poor the PG258Q did on the GtG test with the 200 end point, this is something that literally none of the "high-end" ASUS TN panels have and also not something that AOC struggled with. Might have something to do with the slightly less overshoot it has (at least when compared to the PG278Q and MG248Q)

Personally I've been stuck on if I wanted to get the ASUS PG258Q specifically because of the GSync and 240Hz feature, or just get the AOC and save a bit of money. Might wait and see how well received the Acer one is.

Sorry for a bit of a derail, but setsul which of the 240Hz monitors do you think is the "best" (yeah I get they're all the same 24.5in TN panel but figured you'd know some specifics)

#21 We seriously need more koth and a/d maps. in TF2 General Discussion

I loved playing GPit in 6s. Granted I was in UGC Steel 6s at the time but I did enjoy playing GPit.

Raptor00XThe thing I always saw with our A/D maps is that we always have this sceme of "Cap A or B, then cap the other and then C"

Why not have a map thats in a row

Cap A then B then C

This way you wouldn't have to always give up one point

Typically when a Map is set up as A and/or B and then C it's done to prevent a horrible stalemate over 1 or both of the 1st 2 points.

faggetI think according to sigsev's video we should be noticing a pretty big difference

you realize the hitboxes always lag behind right? The hitboxes in the video aren't showing for interpolation. If you watch closely you'll see the hitboxes moving the wrong way period (mostly with the legs), the biggest fuck imo is the heavy where when the heavy is moving right and head leans right the hitboxes are leaning left instead so if you did actually aim at the heavies head and clicked you would hit nothing or at best his shoulder.

it's the most size efficient coin. Fill 2 jars of the same proportions 1 with dimes 1 with quarters, you'll have more money in the one with dimes.

#27 highest kills on strange? in TF2 General Discussion

Highest I have is ~150k on my sniper rifle, had I only used my strange sniper rifle it'd be over 200k.

I know of a few snipers who played SvS only who have 300k+ kills on there rifles. SvS is definitely the fastest way to get a ridiculous kill count on a strange sniper rifle other than achievement farm servers. Otherwise I know of a couple people who have stranges that were used in farm servers for like a year with a few million kills gr:m being one of them (the guy with the multiple miniguns with several million kills)

VulcanHas anyone played yet and if yes do they think the hitbox fix has improved their play?

Anecdotes from playing as sniper for about 70minutes in a pub.

Heavy headshots are WAY more consistent.
Medic, Spy, Sniper, and Engi feel almost exactly the same.
Demos and Soldiers probably placebo but I swear airborne targets are more consistent (otherwise mostly the same)
Scout didn't get to shoot enough scouts to notice any difference.
Pyro, I feel like they're harder to headshot from behind now... otherwise seemingly the same

my honest impression of the hitbox fix is that given a HL scenario most snipers will likely hit 2-3% higher accuracy than they were before. As for say hitscan in general though DPM will likely be affected by less than 5% improvement (any gamemode)

yahooComanglia- Fixed an animation bug that would cause the client and server hitboxes to become out of sync
I wonder how long that's been around and what exactly cause this to happen...

sigsegv explained it on reddit

can I get a link?

-edit-
I'm blind here it is https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/5u2s53/tf2_update_for_21417/ddqwdus/

omfg this explains so much bs... so I guess this update a buff for hitscan classes namely sniper

#9 Worth Playing Open? in TF2 General Discussion
4812622I spent four seasons in UGC and it was a complete waste of time.

For one, UGC experience doesn't matter to team leaders. If you don't take your UGC team to ESEA, you'll be at square one when posting your LFT or LFP thread.

For two, nobody cares in UGC because it's free. So many of our matches were full-time Pyro + Demoknight or full time Huntsman. The people that want to play UGC are also less committed to improving, as a whole. ESEA-O is not free, so if you want to throw, you're wasting money.

For three, you will get better by playing teams that are better than you, as long as your team doesn't get upset at losing and die. But if that is going to happen, it will still happen after you play a season of UGC, stomp, and go to ESEA, so just get it out of the way now.

For four, don't overestimate low Open players, they're pretty shit.

On the flip side of this coin, just because you're playing in UGC doesn't mean you can't scrim ESEA open teams lol.

#62 what do you eat breakfast? in TF2 General Discussion

Cereal or Oatmeal on weekdays, I usually add 2ish tablespoons of peanut butter to my oatmeal.

Weekends is basically anything goes. I particularly like homemade waffles with peanut butter though.
