proximoFucking please bro, aren’t you pretty much doing the same in order to push your Florida LAN? You say you sent a publically available github link to some dude at Valve and now you’re acting like you were personally involved with the VAC team.
noblenderbut he is right about miggy. i've been saying it all day in multiple reddit threads, he probably sent valve f1publics code, which is public. tommi was ratted and miggy is taking credit just like maxbox was trying to do.
Hold the phone there fellas.
Nowhere outside of a small insignificant post on the UGC forums did I ever try to post my Lan out of this. My Florida Lan steam group has gained 2 new users since the Vac Wave and my event has received only 6 new donations since, there were 100 previous donations throughout the past 3 months.
And if you even read my post you would have known the following:
1) I outright say that I have no confirmation of anything I submitted to Valve had any effect on what happened but that I felt it very well could have because of the really amazing timing of it all. The only doubt I have in my mind about it is that the post by "LMAOBOX" turned out to be fake thus making the connection between the two things (My email and the VAC wave) not 'as strong' as they were previously.
2) That I felt that Max was using the situation to garner attention to himself and get donations (He even mentioned on stream that he would buy a ticket to PAX with the money).
3) That I didn't want my friends harassing Max or his people in any way
4) If people insisted on thanking me to just simply spread word of FLan. Not even donate, just tell others about the event.
And as stated in multiple posts everywhere, yes, I did sent Valve a github repo and told them of other places to look. My submission of the f1 git was one of three things I pointed out to them. One of three.
Fuck you for trying to even insist that I am pandering for an event. Damn boy, if you only knew or gave a shit about the amount of effort and money OUT OF MY OWN POCKET that I've put into FLan since 2014. FLan has never been, and never will be a for profit event. I would rather lose a bit of money if it meant having a big event for the community and a place where my friends can have a good time.
I have put so much effort and time out of my life into this community to have two guys compare me to Maxbox.
No matter what issues I had in life like my car wrecks, losing a job, and getting shitty as fuck skin cancer, I stuck with this community and I kept contributing because I wanted this place to thrive and keep going. When FLan 2014 rolled around I was jobless, I had quit my job the month prior due to a very aggressive boss who on more than one occasion waved a gun around the office jokingly. I spent money I technically couldnt afford to spend because I refused to cancel the event. I spent time out of my life to attempt to learn and create a simple Server Side anticheat plugin because no one else in UGC was willing to even help with the cheater situation. I missed tryouts trying to research IPs for alts and STVs of players accused of cheating despite not being a league admin. I did this so often that players are more likely to come to me for assistance than open a ticket with UGC. My accusations on players were never wrong (so far) and the evidence I've submitted since Feb 2015 has led to countless bans in UGC. My efforts have gone so noticed by the UGC players that I'm often confused for an official admin which brings me more pride than it honestly should.
The point is, I've done so much for this community than you realize and the fact that you're trying to put a negative spin on any of it is insulting.
Don't ever compare me to someone who amassed a following by hacking in an old video game, asshole.
