#27 TFTV ZOWIE Invitational #2 Recap in News

I didnt like the atmo thingy to introduce the players, I feel like it would be a lot cooler if you could make it more fifa like. have an animation that drops down the list of players.

rough example

ofcourse make it look prettier then the 5 minutes i spent on this.

#99 ETF2L North American Division in TF2 General Discussion

imo CEVO is the most viable option. Its already established all it needs is teams signing up. ETF2L needs a whole new american admin lineup that are willing to put the work in.

leakyWhy don't we have each individual EU and NA divisions use their own ruleset?

This is what I said in my earlier post. Its not a far off idea to slowly walk towards a unified rule system.
So the progression would be kinda like this. 1st season NA rules. 2nd season winlimit 5 2maps a week 1 team. at the end of the 2nd season you think "this isnt so bad, I can deal with this", 3rd season timelimit 30, windifference 5, Yeh this isnt so different either, games are still around the same length and thank god we dont have to think about long drawn out games.

Same thing in reverse for EU rules.
Honestly I've played with both rulesets and I find the game still the same, its just minor differences which you dont really think about much.

Ruleset tbh should be the least of our worries.

#30 Pros and Cons of NA League choices in TF2 General Discussion

so far its fairly decent in europe. People contact admins to talk about possible cheaters and give em demos of said game they had suspision on etc. To note I think helberg is the person who has been accused of hacking the most but to this day admins cant find anything wrong
yes it takes time but you have a whole community tipsing you, and thus the witch hunt begins. If you think a person is cheating and its not an official game then just refuse to scrim against them?

omniIf you guys can't decide on what ruleset to use (if the NA ruleset of score keeping is even doable on etf2l's current web setup), try doing a experimental short cup for each ruleset. Expose both NA and EU players to both setups and make a final, unbiased and fair decision on which is the superior.

this was kinda done in the nations cup. there was full on american rulesets then (except for unlocks, duh)

I remember some interviews on the casts about the unlocks rules and the players (me included if i remember correctly) said that it wasnt much of a difference.

#28 Pros and Cons of NA League choices in TF2 General Discussion

ETF2L does have a prizepool, but only at the highest division. the prizepool was at 1000 euro = 1342.10 US Dollar spread on the top 3 teams. together with this came also peripherals.

read more about it here

No idea how one would get around finding sponsors to pay for an NA prizepool, but surely with some effort there should sponsors across the pond.

Serious post this time.

When it comes to the ruleset there isnt much to it. We need to get a unified ruleset, and the easyest way for us to get this is for either the europeans to switch to american rules, or the americans going to european rules. now theres a third option aswell but its not very quick, and its kinda what ETF2L is trying to do at the moment. And that is slowly adapting rules to what most people want (added unlocks this season, probably more next season)

Now what I believe permzilla want is for as many people to enjoy the league as much as possible. If this means having US ruleset one season and change it a bit the season after so it matches the EU rulesets a bit more, then I dont think thats such a far off idea.

We all have strong opinions on the rules (timelimit 30, winlimit 5, windifference 5, you name it) but the fact is that we cant all be winners in this scenario, and I atleast am willing to switch over to winlimit 5 if that means we will get a unified ruleset.
