Do you have any sound mods (other than hitsound) in your custom folder?
Edit: you mentioned you run linux, I would not be suprised if this is a pulseaudio issue. I'm not sure if you can run tf2 with alsa to test it though.

hud_reloadscheme at any time (including in your autoexec) fixes the scoreboard issue, I believe around tough break was when minmode scoreboards stopped loading properly
tf_scoreboard_mouse_mode 2 doesn't work while you are dead and spectating so if this script actually works during these moments then this script isn't redundant.
Edit: it does, you should probably un strikethrough the op
I got the crashes when I messed with the x+y positions of the "Competitive Beta Image", just make them "c100" instead of "c20+40" or similar if you moved them.
https://github.com/FireStarW/sweetHud/commit/071a5a18414b41715857afcdbe3635f0f0afc035
These changes alone caused the crashes basically.
V1.39 , TLC update, released Download
Target IDs repositioned to not require a cvar (lol), Main menu has been touched up, the old 6v6 scoreboard has been revived (if I could get a way to test team avatars I'm sure they'd look sick on it), and other little things have been fixed up.
Also, to clarify, Sinders as well as everyone else that has impacted this HUD are clearly credited in the readme.
And I am aware this is sort of between a Full hud release and a collection of edits, not enough for a huds.tf release but enough to be unique.
Hopefully you know to run nvidia, not that a gpu matters that much for tf2
As a linux mint user, first thing I'll say is if you run any mods other than a hitsound and hud you better get rid of them as more than 2 mods in your custom folder causes crashes on the stricter sv_pure servers (i.e. valve servers)
In terms of performance, in order to get decent frames in battle I had to use comaglias config, running a i5-3570. Based on what I've seen performance is about 10%-20% worse than windows with a good rig (intel+nvidia) and awful on anything else. No stuttering or any unplayable issues, its just the linux version is definitely not optimized right now, have no idea how it compares to windows performance though as I haven’t booted windows at all this year. At least valve intends to optimize this game at some point
Feels bad knowing how bad tf2 runs now compared to when the linux port came out, it ran and loaded way faster than windows tf2 then, now its a caught up with windows and then some.
Edit: one thing I will say, is when I upgraded my kernel from 3.19 to 4.2 a few months back I got a noticeable performance boost in tf2, so I'd probably run a distro that runs more recent packages, or the debain sid repo in your case. Might have just been a weird case with me though

Some of you may recognize this from a while back.
I've been keeping this updated so I thought I might as well make a thread for it.
Inspired by several other HUDs, in the vanilla tf2 style, my hud has the interesting feature of still having the eve hud it was based off of as the normal hud (cl_hud_minmode 0) and the sweetHud layout as the minimal hud (cl_hud_minmode 1)
Any suggestions or feedback is appreciated, the hud should be working for all resolutions (16:9, 16:10, 4:3)
To use the default chat font (smaller text) delete ChatScheme.res from the resource folder, consult the readme for other installation procedures.
Make sure you enable the minimal hud, e.g. "cl_hud_minmode 1" , to use the layout you see in screenshots
Download
Note: loading scoreboards in "cl_hud_minmode 1" is currently broken and requires you to run "hud_reloadscheme" before the proper scoreboard loads. You can simply add "hud_reloadscheme" to the bottom of your autoexec.cfg to deal with this issue
opskins and the backpack.tf forums are decent options, and trade tf's community list shows the site tf2buy.com is an option as well.
this is is what losing highlander does to you
deetrHow can I reload my main menu buttons while working on them, hud_reloadscheme doesn't seem to work)
changing resolution works for reloading main menu stuff
we facepunch now?
