I played pubs and didn't crash with my hud and it has names under items in panels, also in the loadout panel there seemed to be a loading time for names to show up, anyone else seen this?

Clip zip is decent and the latest one to support rockbox, its barely old enough to be discontinued though.
The battery life on the zip with rockbox is a bit iffy though I'm not sure if thats normal or if the devs never got to optimizing it for the zip.

Any recent-ish device that supports rockbox is probably worth it.

If you didn't already know, a project called TF2 tightrope already exists that kinda does this, but it seems recently they added a bunch of crap as well like their own weapons, so don't go down that route.

There was a post in one of the last pages with the latest improvements and fixes but I can't seem to find it.
Note that having a mod this large will impact tf2's performance

back when the loose cannon had a 4 sec timer instead of the 2 sec timer it has now, getting mid range double donks actuallly took time to charge and do, so there was an obvious attack speed and damage tradeoff compared to pipes.
The short timer also allows you to get a consistent 40 damage explosion in front of you.
