#13 ESEA League Season 15 Prize Breakdown in TF2 General Discussion
KillingFzeroMerchantreillyThat's a pretty impressive first place for main.
Yeah, arguably too big. Why would you want to play invite where you lose money expect if you place 1st, 2nd or maaaybe 3rd when you can make 200$ each in main?

You get a free vacation (or cheap) to a very shitty hotel.

The hotel for the past 2 lans has actually been awesome.

What did it change too? The last few lans happened when I was away on a business trip.

I lied, after doing everything I still crashed while talking to some on my Friends lists on steam.

#13 Crashing prettyt often in Hardware

This case is closed, after going back to my old 314.xx drivers, I have no issues. At least it wasn't the video card dying again.

WaldoI have a 560TI, I'm just using the 306.97 drivers on the site, I haven't had any problems like what you're talking about it. I remember something similar would happen for a few days after over-overclocking my CPU, you might want to try manually clearing CMOS(i.e, removing the battery for a good 2 minutes) to make sure. That's what fixed a similar problem for me, at least.

The latest drivers are 331.65, so that maybe the issue. Clearing CMOS should not do anything since I have not changed a single bios setting since having these issues, so I don't think it has anything to do with my settings.

#1 HUD threads in Site Discussion

While I understand that there is already a TF2 Customization, but within that there is also a HUD master thread. I feel that it would be better to have a HUD only forum. The reason that I think it's for the best is that it's easier for the creator to make and update his/her own thread. It would make it a little easier for the creator to bump the thread if/when it gets updated when an update hits.

Just a thought since I always thought model/game customization should have a different thread than HUDs, if only for cleanness.

Ok, I have tried everything in this thread, but I think the issue is a buggy updated driver, what nvidia drivers are people using for 560TI, or anything close to it?

Sorry, for the late post but we were stuck in a cabin last night after a tornado hit about 10 mins away from where we were staying. While, I guess it was a free night, it was still scary as hell without power in the middle of the woods without cell phone signals.

#61 Sandbagging in TF2 General Discussion

Let me ask a real question regarding "sandbagging open" teams, this is for the players and the normal open teams at the same time.

Would you care less if you felt like the sandbagging teams that were playing open actually intended to start in open to move up to other divs? What it seems like is a lot of ex-invite players will make an open team, but never truly desire to play past open.

#9 Bioshock DLC launched in Other Games

I feel like they made it into parts when they didn't want to at first. For the past 6 months people have done nothing but bitch about when the DLC is coming out. I have no idea if it's true, only a guess.

ikpureyea i have the same problem, it is most likely due to new drivers... downgrading should fix it, I'm about to do it now

What did you downgrade to?

#1 Crashing prettyt often in Hardware

I've been freezing in firefox and crashing in Bioshock DLC, but I can't figure out what the issue is. I feel like the new drivers are crashing more often. Does anyone have a clue which is more stable for my GPU? Here is the specs and the things I have already tried, any help would be great. BTW, I will be gone this weekend for my birthday, so it may take me time to respond.

Specs
CPU- I5-2500K overclocked to 4.4, already tried stock settings and didn't help. I used to have it at 4.7 without any issues too. CPU stays around 40-45C in any game at that speed of 4.4.
RAM- Corsair 8 gigs at 9-9-9-24. Ran Memtest for 3 hours and no errors.
Motherboard- Asus P8P67 Pro rev 3.1, all up to date drivers including bios.
GPU- GTX 560 Ti (I think PNY, I forgot) at normal no OC. Ran Furmark at highest setting for 30 mins, no errors.

Ran every single virus check I could find and they didn't pick up anything. Here is the last Windows freeze that I can show in the last few times are these. (No BSOD's, just pure freezing)

#17 cheap tf2 only machine in Hardware
RigelI would get a cooler regardless of if you want to OC. The cooler that it comes with, at least in my experience, is not very good at keeping temps low enough. You don't need to spend 40 dollars but a 20-30 dollar one should be good enough. Make sure the ratings are good too.

Also, building a PC is not hard at all. Your first build might take 3-4 hours or more depending on how much research you've done. YouTube has tons of guides if you're unsure, and the motherboard manual will come in handy when plugging stuff in. Some things I learned from my first build:

- don't forget your standoffs
- put your CPU in first, the cooler, then RAM, then GPU, the n the whole mobo in the case
- don't forget your paste! Make an X on the CPU with it, don't smooth it with paper and never touch the top with your fingers
- have a flashlight handy, washcloth to dry your hands, and a table to put your stuff on

Good luck!

Really, you put motherboard last? I have never liked the idea of that. I always like to CPU and cooler and PSU then test POST. It helps to narrrow down DOA items.

#16 World of Warcraft: Warlords of Dreanor in Other Games

I will never play WoW again, since they banned my account for "3rd party leveling" or something like that. I played a total of 3-4 hours when I forgot to turn off my VPN in college and that's all it took. When I complained, they could give two shits. The oddest part was that I was 60 for at least a year prior and just started playing again when my roommate started playing. I have no idea how someone can "power level" when they have been max level for more then a year.

#2 Cheap Low Power Solution in Hardware

Biostar is complete junk, pay a little more for something decent. Also, generic PS will under perform/DOA/Die early. I don't see the reason for a SSD at all for what she is doing with it
