-proto... insurance???? lmao boys...
You know nothing
You need to check how insurance for the event will work. The venue might cover it, but if in doubt get your ass covered.
If the space doesn't normally have as many computers as you might expect for the lan you need to ensure it can provide enough power safely. Also if extra cabling for power and networking is needed, you need to make sure that's handled by people who know what they're doing (which might be you, idk)
We seem to have had a successful test and there's no problems with server load so I'll get this added up to the server list as soon as I can find someone to do it
The one thing that would help comp TF2 the most is a time machine
damneasyJust for the love of god have fast respawn times.
Comp.tf says that NA respawns are 2 second and EU suffers a 6 second wait. You want NA or is even that too slow?
OK I'll go for bball as it seems to be completely lacking. Now I just have to figure out how to configure it
Edit: What's the preferred map? Seems to be bball_tf_v2 running elsewhere but does anybody want alpine or something?
Starkieb4nnyFor reference this is what you can do if you push on a pick while knowing they have a spy: https://www.twitch.tv/esportsarena/v/116587878?t=9h11m30sits such a shame that someone so arrogant and socially inept is the face of tf2
Hope that helps :)
the party after the finals was just the production crew, the other invite teams and your own teammates bitching about you

You've earned it
I've got a TF2 server based in France. I have no idea if the routing is good for people to play on but assuming it is, what shall I do with it? Is there a shortage of anything in EU?
Will not be installing brony mods
WadeESABut aside from that, b4nny does not speak for Esports Arena.
Unfortunately this confusion has probably generated most of the negative feedback you've received
I understand from the reported leaks that Saudi Arabia isn't on the list of countries being blocked to prevent the US becoming subject to more terrorist attacks. Comedy gold Don.
Getawhaleyou're right, even the most generous math gives more than two, even when you exclude 9/11 as an outlier, but i doubt the importance/significance/purpose of the chart he posted. we get it, americans shoot other americans. so in other words, that graph isn't really a compelling thing to look at or consider.
If we're looking for the true quality in the thread, I would like to return to the discussion of how dangerous a bed in possession of a nuclear weapon might be.
lettosubmitted a bunch of stuff i didn't see on there so far, hope the site spreads between newer players
Cheers letto, will probably get through the submission backlog in the next couple of days.
gemmin terms of feedback, having a date for each resource would be nice as newer videos are generally preferred over older ones
I've recorded this data where possible but not used it as quite a lot of stuff is reposted from other channels and it doesn't have the original date on it so there's quite a bit that's misleading. Something being old also doesn't mean that it's low quality, so if it gets some use the rating system might help solve that but we'll see.
sage78Neat !
it would be cool to have some way of differentiating 6v6 vids from 9v9
i wonder how big the list of ".tf" domains is at this point
I've done a shitty job of making the tags search clear. The first box in the search bar contains tags for the resources. You can select 6v6 or Highlander tag and it filters the list by that. You're not the first to miss that, I need to do something there to make it more obvious how that works
There are loads of tags for classes, maps, types of resource, etc
I've knocked up a website for searching, rating and submitting training and information resources for competitive TF2 at training.tf. I've spent a couple of days inputting most of the stuff that's easy to find, it's predominantly on 6v6 but HL content (or even if you've got some 4v4 stuff or something exotic) is also OK as long as it's not a dead format.
The motivation for the site is to try to provide a centralised resource that the community can continue to contribute to over time which will alleviate a lot of stuff becoming scattered and lost as tends to be the case.
Feel free to submit stuff, self promotion is find as long as it's quality content. The site support youtube and twitch but please link to twitch highlights as they are more likely to stick around unlike normal twitch videos which expire. The kind of content I'm looking for is instructional or aimed at improving people's understanding of the game, so in depth reviews and so on are good, not just gameplay.
One thing I'm reluctant to add is Povs with no comms or commentary. There are so many out there they will just flood the index and their instructional value is limited. Povs with comms are OK, but I probably won't include things on dead maps like Obscure and others, and even with comms there'll be a bit of a bar to entry in terms of the importance or result of the game.
