#47 We seriously need more koth and a/d maps. in TF2 General Discussion
CaeliunfCaelitwo of the best maps? might be in NA. In EU I can't think of a single person that likes product and isn't a sniper main. Nobody wants to scrim on it.

People dislike granary because you have to play it differently and it doesn't have a ''spire'' (just like sunshine, process...) and it's certainly not as stalematey as people usually say. In fact, no map has felt slow to me (except for reckoner last)

I got it, let's create a map where every point is a spire and additionally, scout-friendly with million props to jump on. Let's make soldier more useless than already is and let's play every map the same so I don't have to learn new ways on how to push a choke.

u dum

yea let's call people who have different opinions dumb.

I think he is calling you dumb because you're asserting your "opinions" as generalizations.

Ie - "I can't think of anyone else but a sniper main who likes Viaduct" - I like Viaduct and I am not a sniper main. You got 1, I am sure if you surveyed all non sniper mains, you'd find more than 1 who approve of the map. People will scrim it when it is time to play it, I want to scrim it - Unless your team plays a lot in the off-season (which mine doesn't) then I don't see why you care if you practise it in the off-season or not, otherwise teams will play the maps due to be played in official games.

You also assert why "people dislike Granary" without any evidence to back up, some theory about a spire which does indeed sound silly. If you can find more people who think you're correct, then your theory holds weight, but it does not come across as an opinion.

#46 We seriously need more koth and a/d maps. in TF2 General Discussion

I don't know about A/D - Using learned knowledge of the past, leagues have historically edged out A/D maps like Gravel Pit from the map pool and whilst I personally think Steel is a fantastic map and it'd be interesting to play from a 6's point of view, I can't imagine more than 5% of the community agree with me, so I think the format will be edged out of the 6's game mode.

For Koth though, we've gradually influxed one map into the pool, Viaduct and it hasn't proven completely unpopular and as the OP rightly points out, 5cp is a burden on stalemates and more focus should be to invest in using more Koth maps to add more variety to help universal appeal of the gamemode but also help reduce stalemates which is a big issue with the game in it's current format.

Koth_Bagel has had a lot of praise and should be considered.

Ashville / Coalplant has been used previously but phased out, maps like Lakeside have not been considered probably due to the strength of the sniper, maps like Warmtic to my knowledge have never been tested and I am not sure why, it seems like it MIGHT be viable for testing. Other than this, from the existing pool of maps, I can't see many other options unless you're a fan of Koth Badlands.

Going forward I would say it would be crazy not to introduce more Koth into competitive TF2, particularly 6v6.

#7 Monogamous or Polygamous in The Dumpster
mathemaphysicistI had more than 1 valentine and I kinda feel like what I'm doing is unhealthy

Depends on your perspective - In some cultures Men have many wives, and mistresses and it isn't frowned upon.

In this particular culture it's confusing. Those who are from traditionally Christian countries are preached about the message of swearing not to commit adultery, of marriage and a monogamous relationship. However in some backgrounds, you may get preached the same message as our laws and moral codes evolved from some complex interpretation of holy scripture, but you then stop and look around and see people are ignoring the moral code anyway and risk everything.

Ultimately it's your decision to live by whatever moral code you can stand to live by.

#51 Uncle Dane Valve Visit in TF2 General Discussion
manaHildrethAll this thread does is confirm how divided communities are in TF2 with their views on going forward in the game, almost as if people enjoy different aspects of the game. There's a massive difference between enjoying different aspects and just being literally flat out wrong about those other aspects, and preaching negativity towards them.

Take a guess which one is more harmful.

Being passionate isn't always good. It has to go hand in hand with having your facts straight.

You are basically stating your point of view is correct yet Dane has more subscribers and views than TFTV?

What are you trying to say? His views on the game are wrong because he is a pubber? Like me saying your views are wrong because I play Prem and you do not play the NA equivalent.

People here have no special or magical formula on what is right or wrong, get over yourself. Only thing people here have in common is a passion for TF2, nobody is more "right" than anyone else in the whole of the community.

Dane is a top bloke with a burning passion for TF2 having spoken to him at Rewind LAN.

#28 ETF2L S26 W2: 3/6 vs. Lowpander in Matches
Max_Can Lowpander matches just not be casted anymore? That was essentially a pub with Mr. Epic carrying.

That is extremely disrespectful to Grenjabob, who would also carry but he has to cap points and die protecting me and Kissakala. I think you should credit all of our team who do a good job to enable Kissakala and I to play in Prem without a semblance of effort.

tobseasy game for pander tbh ...

We'll see, I got a lot of respect for 3/6 as a team, good players, good people unlike some in this division.

Good players tend to quit after a while, especially if you achieve your goals and win what there is to win in a fairly limiting competitive game where the majority play as a hobby. The best players leave, the second best become the best. Life moves on, TF2 moves on - As long as new players come into the scene, there will always be new, hungry players wanting to achieve in the game replacing older players who have achieved. At the moment new blood isn't coming in at a quick enough rate sadly, but my point stands - The 2nd best will become the best, the 3rd best will become the 2nd best all because the best before quit.

TF2 "Pro" implies you intend to be a Professional, and a Professional by definition is one who earns a living from the game.

How do you intend to earn a living from TF2?

#22 ETF2L S26 W1: ChampGG.K! vs. Lowpander in Matches
TurboTabsAlso this was our mini-test of nuze on half time analysis. What did you think? worth exploring?

I actually thought he added a lot because whoever the other two main casters were did not actually explain anything they just went "This is bizarre", at least Nuze tried to analyse aspects of the game that worked and didn't work for both teams.

#41 EUHL is actually dead (if it wasn't already). in TF2 General Discussion

Not ETF2L's fault, they could do a few little things better but ultimately Chessclub were a mess in terms of organization and scheduling. Kaja's rant is pathetic and I lost respect for him because Strong Opinions were in the same position and travelling as some of us were in Chess. I think we went like 4 weeks straight in Jan without a full roster, that is our fault.

My biggest regret is how a team so disorgaized like Chess with so many people who did not give a shit make it to the LAN final. People do not care as there is nothing to play for beyond the idea of competing.

If you get to a stage where Grand Finals can't be played it reflects poorly on the league but it is mostly about Chessclub not being organised.
