#1 OBS game capture not working with tf2 in Q/A Help

This has been happening to me for some time, for some reason game capture is not working with my tf2, everytime I enable it I just get a black screen on OBS and my tf2 "freezes" as in, I can still hear sound and do stuff ingame but the game screen is frozen from the time I enabled game capture.

Ive been using Window capture recently but it's not optimal so I would appreciate some help with this.

#36 Map location nicknames in TF2 General Discussion
KhanWhat did that area between mid and second on sunshine end up being called? I've heard people call it flank, valley, flowers and market

Most people from my experience call it either Floral or valley.

#21 Wine in The Dumpster

Any Wine thread without a mention of Portuguese wine is a loss in my books.

After all we have mastered the art of wine making, and more importantly, wine drinking. I've probably drank more wine than soda in my life.

#2 Map location nicknames in TF2 General Discussion

Most callouts are self explanatory, some others have deep roots in the game history, for example in EU the Patio near house is called Haunter because Haunter was a very famous Portuguese soldier, from the old YoYoTech, that used to hide? (or bomb, not sure) from there a lot. This kind of stuff is really interesting for me because of all the history behind it with old map versions, teams or players.

Anyway, most map pages on comp.tf have images with their respective callouts, not all are done or finished but as always with a wiki we depend on user contributions. Ex: Badlands page (http://comp.tf/wiki/Badlands#Locations) or badwater (http://comp.tf/wiki/Badwater#Strategy)

#9 Prem / Invite players Wanted in TF2 General Discussion
Ond_kajaTry contacting the players yourself?

Sorry but it's not really efficient adding dozens of players in the hopes someone would have the time / profile or motivation to do it. I am looking for people who are genuinely interested in helping, because if they are they will take their time to add me and have a little chat, otherwise I would end up having to chase people on steam chat just to see if they're interested and that's not really worth my time as I already spend enough time as is with the youtube channel.

#1 Prem / Invite players Wanted in TF2 General Discussion

I have been trying to do this for quite a while now, basically I wanna start a learning / tutoring series through comp.tf youtube channel, I have dwelled with it in the past and even had contact with a few players but the idea never took off due to lack of time / motivation on both parts, but now that matchmaking is officially coming I wanna go through with this.

So I am looking for established Prem or Invite players who would be interested in working with me on this series, you would have to be comfortable recording your own voice, and I would handle the production. It could be about anything, how to approach a mid, how to approach a push, situational unlocks, rollouts, basically anything you feel you could contribute at your level.

What do you have to gain? Well other than providing an amazing resource for the community, our youtube channel has around 4k subs atm and increasing steadily, and Im actively working on it, so of course you could promote your own youtube channel / stream, etc...

Add me on steam if you're interested.

Edit: First video of the series was already released here

#64 ESEA Allowing medigun pickups? in TF2 General Discussion

Honestly this is such a snowball mechanic I don't really see how it has a place in this game. I hope they just make it reset to 0% uber everytime you die, doesn't matter the circunstance, otherwise I wouldn't like to play a league where it would be acceptable.

#9 Kaneco's Recording and Editing Resources in Videos
AlmieKanecowhen you run a POV demo, the demo generally executes the configs/cvars that were used on the source computer, so it can get pretty weird, ex: I had a demo that would change graphical options after changing class, another one that would disable and enable viewmodels every 2 secs (making them blink), every weird script and setting u can imagine I have seen it, these were VERY annoying when recording stuff, messing up entire recordings and even crashing the game a lot.Maybe someone should start a PSA for people to set their demo_recordcommands to 0. I believe that when you do that the configs dont get recorded into the demo. Would be quite useful for editors and config writers so they dont have to include hundreds of lines of commands just to lock every cvar.

Wasn't aware of that cvar at all, honestly if it works as intended it should be mandatory in every major graphics config out there, saves so many headaches, but I think it's unreasonable to expect everyone will use it so a full config lock is still useful.

Brazil has some crazy high electronics import taxes. Same reason why an iphone is over $1000 or a ps4 at launch was something like $2000

#156 Razer Arena - TF2 Frag Fest (EU&NA) in TF2 General Discussion
DilusiveIs something going on this Wednesday that I am oblivious to? We have no registrants for EU and 1 for NA.

My team is definitely gonna signup for wednesday, maybe tomorrow. Some teams might be a bit saturated? since I can't recall a period where we had biweekly cups, granted its offseason but still. In eu for example a lot of people are playing and practising for the HL nations cup atm.

#3 Any worthwhile mobile games? in Other Games

If you're into football (soccer), New Star Soccer is amazing, the original pc version was one of the most addictive pc games like 15 years ago. The current versions are still very cool and the mobile version is definitely addictive but has a lot of microtransations so beware that.
