#472 MAJOR TF2 update for 6/18/14 (6/19/14, Love & War) in TF2 General Discussion
yankeeKanecoSince when are pipes reliable?
When you practice. I'm sorry that you don't have a 100% effective solution for killing +fwding scouts now, but this update doesn't change the fact that pipes still do a shitload of damage.

Its not reliable, even if you practice, you can hit 80% of them and its still not reliable. Its a projectile weapon, that makes it prediction based, thus, not reliable.

A reliable weapon is a hitscan weapon or similar, you aim for a place and you hit that place 100% of the time, no exceptions, you dont have to predict anything and your success is not dependent on the will or movement of the person you are trying to hit, because if you are aiming for him you will hit him 100% of the time, because it's not prediction based.

You can have godly pipe aim, it still doesn't make pipes a reliable self defense weapon.

#459 MAJOR TF2 update for 6/18/14 (6/19/14, Love & War) in TF2 General Discussion
yankeeKanecoYou remember when you feel helpless 1v1ing a decent scout, now it will be even worse.
or you could just practice pipe aim

Since when are pipes reliable? Any projectile weapon is unreliable, even more at close range and even then you take self damage from it. You need a hitscan weapon of some sort or a no self dmg weapon to have some realiable close range defense mechanism. And no, melee is not reliable either.

Maybe if the damage ramp up nerf included self damage, so it promoted a more agressive playstyle altogether it would actually be a logic balance, not like this

mKanecoif anything, demo needed a buff at close range combat not a nerf.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEoTQB7h3NQ

Nice argument mason

Try to actually play the class and read what I said again.

It didn't need a close range nerf, if anything it needed a long range nerf, like damage fall off on distance like rockets, less stickies, damage nerf when more than 1 demo per team, etc...

Close range is actually the biggest weakness of the class, and you are taking one of the demo most reliable weapons (albeit still very unreliable) at close range and nerfing it even more.

You remember when you feel helpless 1v1ing a decent scout, now it will be even worse. There's no other class so reliant on other classes for self defense as the demo. Its even worse now.

#440 MAJOR TF2 update for 6/18/14 (6/19/14, Love & War) in TF2 General Discussion
flamewow its like you guys have never been through a game with a balance change before.

Its not making demoman underpowered, its just nerfing it in close quarters, while also buffing other classes indirectly.

This couldn't be more wrong. Demoman weakness is exactly close quarters combat, why would you want to nerf that and not long range combat?

Demoman is the only class in the game which doesn't have a reliable close range weapon, I repeat, the only class in the game which doesn't have a reliable close range weapon, before you say anything, no, pipes are not reliable, and you take self damage.

Scout has hitscan weapons, soldier has shotgun, pyro has shotgun and the flamethrower, spy has revolver, sniper has smg, engie has shotgun + unlocks, heavy has everything, even medic has syringes. Every class except the medic has a hitscan weapon they can use at close quarters, and even the medic syringe is pretty effective at close range.

Demoman weapons are projectile based, as such they are not reliable close quarter weapons and you take self damage from both, if anything, demo needed a buff at close range combat not a nerf.

This was more than obvious a balance with pub players in mind, obviously they cried enough about demo being op for it to be nerfed for the 1543352 time.

Maybe an actually logic balance for a pub perspective as someone mentioned would be to distribute or reduce demo damage when there is more than 1 demo on each team? And not actually entirely destroy the class main role which is to deal damage.

After almost 800h on demo, most of them competitive, I actually feel angry with this change

#171 TF2 countdown? in TF2 General Discussion

I'm gonna be honest. The video was amazing, 15 mins of pure entertainment and its obvious a lot of effort went into it, kinda reminds me of the old good times of the meet the team videos.

On the other side, this makes me even more melancholic because I see tf2 as a game with so much wasted potential if only we had a dedicated team to produce content of this quality much more regularly and actually fix ingame bugs and optimization problems which are piling with every new update.

I think we could even reach near dota2 popularity status if there was a bigger team dedicated to tf2 and making it alive. Maybe even work on an animated series and all that stuff.

Also Im genuinely scared for the stupid ideas they might implement with the new weapons coming.

that early penalty changed the whole flow of the game imo, it was kinda balanced until then, then the red card, the missing penalty call and all the other goals past the second one were just insult to injury

we still got this, coming for u america

wpminnowsvaliantDispensers only cost 70 metal when using the gunslinger.
maybe they'll make minisentries cost 130

That would be too logic of a balance for valve

#107 numlocked in TF2 General Discussion
PermzillaKanecoI think people are underestimating kiler a lot, he is probably the best scout in EU atm, I haven't watched much from this season but all the recent seasons leading up to this one he had a beast form.

As for the rest, a bit expected I guess, Epsilon cant pass this opportunity, if the fundraiser didn't happen it would have been a different story certainly

no one is saying kiler is bad, schocky is just better

Oh, definitely, schocky is still my all time favorite tf2 player. He is one of the few players that has the legend status for me. Excluding his godlike aim, he completely pushed the scout mobility potential to its limits. But I haven't seen him playing in months, is he gonna be a shadow of what he was if he comes back? Or does he still got it?

And not discrediting bash, as things stand I would still favor kiler in the roster regardless if stefan comes back or not.

E-thugKanecoI still can't comprehend how epsilon lost one point against the absolute worst team in prem with numlocked playing for them again.
as if saints was better than lazy pandas. lets not kid ourselves.

You're right, it should have been a 6-team prem
