DreamboatTime to grab my iron teams frag video (credit 4lphalfa)
but i said old footage EYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Hello, gamers. I need a few people to help me out with a project that is essentially mindless data entry. I'm building a catalogue of as many competitive TF2 vlogs, videos, and frags movies as possible for a few reasons:
- Make editing Beyond the Hats much easier.
- Dig up old/ rare footage, which is always fun to watch
- Help future video editors out
Each video will be catalogued with the category, title, creator, date, brief description, and (if applicable) a transcript. This is obviously not an easy project by any means. It is, however, something that will make the documentary much better. It will help future "generations" of competitive players know more about players gone by. The project will most likely be hosted on essentials.tf (a website that is coming soon that will provide a whole host of information about all kinds of things in tf2), but that's not an entirely set deal yet.
Comment on this thread of you're interested in helping out and I'll send you a message. Alternatively, tweet at me @KevinIsPwn or message me on tftv.

i hit a thing that was in the air
I lose somewhere between 130 and 170 fps when I pull out my skinned SMG rather than my sniper rifle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpMOnCDb4zk
It's comically inefficient.
Dear Hank and John is fantastic. It's like a bunch of weird podcasts in one. They do a Q/A, a poetry reading, news about mars, and news from some obscure third tier football club. I usually listen to it while DMing or cleaning up around the house. Would recommend.
saamDoes anyone remember the Arena Respawn tourney this group tried to run? Complete shitshow, got delayed for over 2 months. I don't have high hopes.
They did deliver on the prizes though. If you need a watercooler and you REALLY like playing demoknight... this even is for you.
Flatline figured it out. https://www.teamfortress.tv/14664/flathud
Knuckles is good, let him be on your team. Been a fun guy to pug with in my experience over the past few months.
if you want crunchy peanut butter eat peanuts
i don't get the appeal to crunchy peanut butter, and i don't think i ever will.
kKaltUuI tested this for us to use during the Nations Cup or next HL / 6s seasons at ETF2L, but it's broken.
We used serveme servers, and right when all players were readied the match just reset to pregame. Until that's fixed there is no use. I think it's up to the SOAP devs so all we can do now is wait.
this thread is a good start but it's a bit premature unless the bug is fixed
Did the servers have SOAP DM on them? If so, the problem is resolved by mr64bit's hook. If not, I'd love to see the config you used to try and diagnose the problem.
smobomvm has the voice lines that play when you ready up, those remind people to press f4 pretty well
This does too i believe. I heard soldier say "ready!" every time I toggled ready.
deetrI think I'd personally rather deal with having an afk once in a while rather than have to wait for the 1 retard that doesn't realize he's not ready that will inevitably happen every game in pugs. As far as matches or scrims I think it would be better to use this system.
Having to say "gamer, press f4" fairly often is much easier than re-execing and then roll calling every few weeks (imo). It's not a difficult thing to catch on to.
Hello, tftv. Some exciting new cvars were added to the game over the course of the past few months that no one seems to notice. The cvar "mp_tournament_readymode" toggles between team and individual ready-up. This is super useful for both scrims and pugs.
http://i.imgur.com/0U5odbK.jpg
The cvars:
mp_tournament_readymode <0/1>
0: Traditional, whole-team rup system
1: New rup system very similar to ESEA and MvM where individuals ready up.
mp_tournament_readymode_countdown <#>
Number of seconds before a match begins when both teams ready up fully. Default is 10, roughly the same amount of time as the live-on-third-restart system that esea uses.
mp_tournament_readymode_min <#>
Number of players on the server required to start readying up. Default is 2, and there's no real reason to change it.
mp_tournament_readymode_team_size <#>
Amount of players required on each team for the match to go live upon all ready ups. Obviously depends on what format you're playing. Not too sure how well the function works in a hl scenario, though.
Add it to your server config:
Most league configs have a "base.cfg" section that every subconfig (IE. push, koth, stopwatch) execs. Add this to the bottom of the base.cfg
mp_tournament_readymode 1
mp_tournament_readymode_countdown 10
mp_tournament_readymode_min 2
mp_tournament_readymode_team_size 6
Cons:
There are a few setbacks.
-
SOAP DM is currently broken in the same way that it was for traditional ready-ups a few weeks ago. This is probably a simple fix that we just need to communicate with valve about.Edit: problem resolved https://github.com/mr64bit/SOAP-TF2DM
- It is currently broken to varying degrees on different custom huds. This is a fix that hud makers will need to make for the matchmaking update anyways, so it's probably good to get that out of the way now.
Pros:
The pros of switching to this system far outweigh those setbacks, though.
- This is obviously something added to the game in anticipation for matchmaking, so it's getting us prepared for those updates.
- Allows for easier readying up in pugs. No roll-calling or double checking.
- Super simple cfg change.
Thought I'd share that with you guys. I found it a while back, and have been doing testing on it in preparation for a certain tf2 lobby project. I recommend you guys try it out. Works well in scrims from my experience. Enjoy!
