dollarlayerSideshowSeyfeiwheres ascent?
Ascent originally decided they didn't wanna play due to euro ping. Then I changed the rules slightly to make it a bit better for the American teams and I think they were considering it, but it's still a big disadvantage.

I'm curious what most Euro's ping to NY servers. I'm in California and have personally seen Euro's at times ping better than I do!

80-120 typically. Not unplayable, but also not very fun.

#9 120hz vs 140hz at 120fps in Hardware

I misread the question. I thought it was asking if he should upgrade from 120hz to 144hz. If you are currently on a 60hz monitor and want to upgrade, definitely go for the 144hz.

24 difference when you have 3 digit FPS is not a huge deal. Save your money, gamer.

#38 Newbie Mix Coaching Incentives in TF2 General Discussion
MR_SLINKevin, it's not a problem isolated to newbie mixes. in pug.me for example, you have high
tier players playing with mid tier players all the time. heck even in lobbies you get high tier mixed with low tier players.

rather than seeing it as a problem to fix, maybe just find a way to work with it.

We let players with a season or two of UGC play if they offclass, but after that it's just silly. There's nothing you can learn if you are facing a team with 1 or 2 players who are way better than you to a point where they just run/jump in and you instagib.

This is a lot of people's first experience of competitive tf2, and we don't want it to be them getting shit on. That's neither fun or productive.

#35 Newbie Mix Coaching Incentives in TF2 General Discussion

Official newbie mix videos are in the works at the moment, and we agree that the newbies should have at least some basis of competitive tf2. That said, tons of people are complaining about things like players with multiple seasons of UGC in this thread rather than contacting an admin and saying "this guy is probably too good for newbie mixes". There's not a realistic way to weed out the players without the coaches communicating with the admins about said players.

I'm working on the videos currently, but I'm pretty busy and at least 2 or 3 more newbie mixes will pass by before they are finished. I'm also working on a coaching guide to make it as easy as possible for you guys. The lack of these videos doesn't change the fact that we need coaches for the next few mixes, though. We're constantly trying to improve the newbie mixes for both the newbies and the coaches.

saambuddhapestthere need to be better, more diplomatic, and less hysterical (and i don't mean funny) ways to solve this. and who is to say that stadium is not going to have yet another bunch of shitheels behind it? maybe they're nice now... but the comp community doesn't exactly have a great track record in terms of management

Considering Kevin successfully ran all of those and helps run newbie mixes I can't think of many other people who would be better suited to taking this on

I don't want to take credit from where it's due. There's a pretty significantly sized group of people working really hard behind the scenes on this project, some of whom have already mentioned their efforts in this thread.

Thanks, though. That really does mean a good deal to me.

GetawhaleWould love to hear more about the advantages, unique features, and how you're trying to position this.

Our core principle of openness is what makes us different from any other similar site out there. We are designing every aspect of our project to be democratic and involve the community. We opened our code to let anyone contribute to development and we have organized ourselves in a way where everyone’s opinion is equally important. We are passionate about creating a service that not only we want to play on but one we want you to be happy with too.

Unfortunately, as just about any developer would understand, I would be uncomfortable promising any features before our devs 100% confirm it. We are actively discussing features internally along with taking feedback from everyone. Our goal is to put this all together into something that is more than just another lobby site.

MR_SLINLooks sick. ETA?

The website will be released once it's functioning properly. We don't want to promise a release and then miss that date. We expect to have an MVP (minimum viable product) relatively soon. You can check progress on our github and get updates in our steam group and twitter.

saamDo you need donations?

Donations are up in the air at the moment. We're really uncomfortable about taking donations before the website actually goes live. If absolutely needed, we'll communicate that with the community in the future.

Hey! I'm excited to be able to announce a new, open source TF2 lobby system: TF2Stadium.com! We have been putting tons of work into it for the past few weeks, and it feels great to finally make a public announcement.

The site is still under construction, and we hope to have it out as soon as possible. Our team is proud of what we've done so far, and we are excited about what we will accomplish with this community’s support. We'll keep you up to date with this rapidly progressing project by posting major announcements in this thread, developer progress in our steam group, and frequent updates on Twitter.

Here are some screenshots of what we have so far.

#43 How to Twitch (Guide to setting up a stream) in Off Topic
yuki1500 bitrate with minimise network impact ticked
480p
30 fps
delay set to anything >0 just doesn't work. Disconnects and retries after like 15sec

There are a lot more settings than those 3 things. Could you screenshot all of your settings so I can try to reproduce the issue with one of my PCs? Wouldn't hurt to have a pic of your dxdiag as well.

KaiThePhauxThank you for this! I'm gonna spread this playlist around for sure.

Thanks. I'll hopefully add more to this playlist soon. I've been super busy over the past few months, though.

torritdoes this apply to euros with higher level etf2l experience

I'd say the raffle would apply to ETF2L players that have played in high+.

Raytekim put off coaching newbie mixes because like capn said people dont bother getting a basic understanding of the competitive formatlucrativeThis is actually a legit idea! When i coached briefly before it was hard to explain anything if players didnt know the basics, ive coached rugby for a long time and its the same idea, players have to have a base knowledge before coaching can be an effective way to improve

This is only a small subset of players in the mixes. Most of the time, you will have 1 of these players maximum. I'm actually working on a 10ish minute basic-6s guide in coordination with some of our best coaches along with good players as well. That should be finished within a couple weeks and will hopefully resolve this issue.

Raytekfrom what ive seen from other peoples streams the players in newbie mixes are like what you'd expect the average user of /r/tf2 to be (14 and loves memes) and some can be really obnoxious and dont understand social interaction

I think anywhere online, you'll find these people. The majority of our newbies are not memers by any means.
