No one in this community likes cups. Essentials cups barely had signups, and that had a far superior prize pool. Not trying to shit on your efforts, Mitch, I just feel that most of it is going to go to waste, unfortunately. I don't think the people in this community would play these even if they knew that it would get us long-term support from ESL.

I was following most your ESL related posts but I think you should have attempted to take a different route if you had the chance considering this community's past with cups, not saying that this is the case obviously as I don't know the full details of your communication with ESL.

I say all this as a person that enjoyed participating in cups and signed up to all bar one of the essentials cups. If my team doesn't want to play this cup I'll most likely end up signing up with a mix team.

Hopefully I'm wrong and this becomes a successful endeavour for which ESL will ramp up their TF2 operations, I'm just not optimistic.
