twitch chat is already terrible. let the flame war begin
MumaAntimoonDo you think LAN ping will be better for Froyo or your opponents?I don't really get your question. We'll all have the same ping. It just depends on what we are used to I suppose. I play with an average of 60 ping, paddie has around 75 and TLR has .... (Idk whatever Dallas players get I've never really looked at his I only know paddie's cause he bitches about it nonstop)
pretty sure he meant to ask who's going to benefit more from lan ping
Consoleit is literally flying cars hitting around an oversized soccer ball what do you want people to think about it being an esport compared to a game people have put thousands of dollars and hours into
ya and this game is literally a brain damaged retard jumping on top of rockets while some cackling german scientist shoves a magic beam up his butt
what do you want people to think about it, clearly ARMA IS THE BEST ESPORT because its so REALISTIC
people can put effort into whatever they want
erynnWow. I am honestly seeing more and more why people stop doing stuff for this community.
The community is getting kinda tiny. Doesn't take a whole lot of toxic, uninformed people to make it feel like everyone is out to get you, especially when you're working like hell and reading shitpost after shitpost. Seems to me that almost everyone here hugely appreciates what you two are doing; the game would not be the same without the services you provide.
Fuck I don't actually have anything productive to say. pogs out for pugchamp
I remember just having one episode on VHS and watching it over and over again, and this shit was just fucking amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LhO-10w30

Crazy stuff. Didn't think Elon had it in him. tf2themoon
KissakalaPendjiValve could give TF2 the CS:GO treatment and save face in 2 months. People still play it a lot and use the marketplace with zero effort from Valve. Why would they save it?
Holy fuck TF.TV people are naive when it comes to saving TF2.
There's 0 interest and/or demand for competitive TF2. What makes me say that? You can see it in the numbers when you go and find a MM game. 500 people in Europe searching for a game, maybe around 5000 in the whole world (IIRC). That isn't exactly something that one would regard as actual "demand". Think about it. It's just not realistic.
Yes, it would be nice and all if TF2 grew, but you simply don't expect it from a game that's 8 years old, has extremely bad performance considering the graphics, fucked up engine, and the balance of weapons and other shit that it currently has. You'd basically have to change almost everything to make it seem fresh and new. In that case Valve would just be better of making a new game. It's just not worth fixing all the shit that's broken or plain bad with the current one.
That's why Valve isn't giving it the "CS:GO treatment", and that is why the game won't get bigger. It's just not a game worth sinking multiple thousands of dollars into.
There's a huge demand for comp. It's waning now, but it's still there. The reason people don't play matchmaking isn't because they don't want to play comp; it's because matchmaking is incredibly fucking bad for new and old players alike. It's not that Valve isn't working on TF2 because there's no demand. Valve has completely fucking murdered all demand for TF2 by not working on it.
Orang3 The future of tf2 and i58CollaideKill me I don't want to read this thread every week
y click tho
Besides that it is really up to Valve at this point to choose what happens to TF2 competitively. Over the past 8 years this community has conclusively proven its dedication, its willpower, its stubborn willingness to just keep playing the game against all odds. It's honestly ridiculous how much some people have put in here while getting nothing but "appreciation" back. I mean, I love playing this game and don't plan on quitting anytime soon, but compared to almost every high level player, I only just started. Hard to blame someone who's been playing a 3rd party patched together comp mode for years, and at the highest of levels, for moving to another game where their talent could start working for them for once.
This is a really good idea. Plus you've got great players from all over the world in one place. Seems like a great time to have a variety of high level people talk about the game.
Looking for a chill team that scrims often. Played pocket for TacoHut eSports(7-9). Also willing to try out on roamer or med. Free whenever, hmu.
flatlinedo you think every time i have to play ORLY (top 100 player) at my melee weekly i just resign it away? no, i get excited because i get to see how better i've become since the last time, i get to see how he plays and adapts. same thing here.
another thing: whenever there's some sort of prize on the line of course top players will be playing. faceit isn't really meant as a platform where you can just get friends together and dick around, nor is it really meant to introduce players to competitive. it's somewhere inbetween TF2Center and ESEA; not really a league, but not just a super pick-up-and-play experience.
also, faceit has ranks and such so things like this should iron out over time anyway
Like I said; nice concept, doesn't address the problem. I'm not denying that people who want to be good are okay with losing repeatedly, badly, and often. Good on you for being one of those people. But a lot of the people trying to play on Faceit right now will play a few games, get matched up against people leagues above their own for each one, be forced to deal with one salty teammate after another, and just move back to whatever other game service they're more comfortable with. It'd be lovely if there were a shitload of people playing TF2 right now who shared that attitude you have, but it remains to be seen whether there are enough to sustain a service like Faceit right now. Judging from what appears to have happened with Razer, there aren't. It'd be helpful if some effort was made for a little bit to accommodate people who aren't invite.
