#27 Worst Christmas Present in Off Topic

My cousin gave me coal once, but i thought it was funny so i guess that's not that bad.

Not me, but my friend's parents gave him a pair of socks, a fruit roll-up, and 3 bags of bugles this year. He says they were laughing the whole time as he unboxed them and for 10 minutes afterwards.

I really like Simpson's Paradox, it's a really good example of how statistics can be counterintuitive and used to mislead.

#8 Favorite album of 2015 in Music, Movies, TV

Overall it's a tough call, I've gotten a lot of playtime out of a decent number of albums. If I had to choose one, I really really enjoyed Skylar Spence - Prom King. Much more than I expected. Some other Honorable Mentions that I spent a good amount of time listening to that no one will care about:
Arca - Mutant
Cherubs - 2 Ynfynyty
Jacek Sienkiewicz - Drifting
Neon Indian - VEGA INTL. Night School
Pinkshinyultrablast - Everything Else Matters
Lightning Bolt - Fantasy Empire
Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden Of Delete

To be perfectly honest though, this year has been much much better for Electronic EPs, I got a lot more listens and enjoyment out of them than most of the albums I listened to this year. My EP of the year is Hidden Spheres - Waiting. There are plenty of other fantastic EPs this year tho, like:
DAZE - Neuromance
Galcher Lustwerk - Parlay
Four Tet - Morning/Evening
Martyn Hare - Enter With Force
Octo Octa - More Times
Zeitgeber - Monad XX

Honestly I'd rate the EPs as better than the Albums this year, which is a surprise.

#16 adhd med questions in Off Topic
takramThe way my past doctors have tried to prevent this is by encouraging me to take it when I need it as opposed to just making it a daily thing where it isn't as beneficial.

I'm not sure how old you are, but if you're 16+ or even 23+ like I was when I was diagnosed, then you'll have developed ways to cope with it on your own. My advice would be to take the medication when you need to study/go to work/focus on something/get shit done in your life and skip doses when you don't need to do any of those things. Rely on the coping skills you've developed and speak to a therapist/read up on ways to manage your ADHD to not only take advantage of the boost the meds give you, but to improve the rest of your life as well.

Your medication being IR (instant) or XR/ER (extended release) may make a difference and you should be aware of the pros and cons of each as well.
.

With XR/ER I think it's better to keep up a regular regiment, at least from what I remember my doctor saying. It's more supposed to be the new norm than a burst. But I totally agree on the importance of managing it other ways as well, the medicine is an aid, not the whole solution. Especially if you are diagnosed at a later age (I was diagnosed at 19). Proper exercise, diet, and disclipine will go a much longer way than just the medicine. Especially the diet, if your medicine reduces your appetite like Adderall XR does.

#51 Guess That Album in Music, Movies, TV
exI like music and I know what /mu/ cucks will draw

same, I post on /mu/ all the time so even if I haven't listened to an album I can usually remember it. Viper made me play TF2 so I didn't have more time to try and catch up :(

#143 Games you played as a kid in Off Topic
trippamario pokemon sonic final fantasy kingdom hearts and SHREK 2

This, I think I beat Kingdom Hearts at least three times as a kid. Absolutely love the first game.
I also played a lot of 2d platformers as a kid, one of my proudest video game achievements to this day is beating all of Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 Levels in one run as a 10 or 11 year-old. Apparently puberty removed any ability I had at 2d platformers though hah.
