I have also been in a similar situation, and if someone at that point in time came and told me "You are not actually depressed" even though I ended up getting a clinical diagnosis, I would have told them to fuck off. Because guess what, he might actually be depressed, and he also might have a bottle of bleach right next to him, you dont know.
