#91 RGL 6s league in TF2 General Discussion
smzino classlimits and all that pretty sure we have been there about 11 years ago or so and already realised how awful it is but surely this time it will be a whole different story

might aswell bring back random crits and fund maps like 2fort or ctf_well they were loved in the comp scene aswell

I'd play that

WandumWandumbecause the game being "interesting" to watch is more important than fun to play?

Just because you might not like it does not mean nobody will like it. Sigafoo has done some research. His prolander concept seems to have some form of audience. This 6s concept seems to have one too, even if it does not cater to the main tftv "we're true tf2 diehard promod 6s double airshot players" audience.

it reminds me of that tvtv showmatch we did years ago, fun times. LFT, obviously.

edit :

rulesPlayers outside of NA can play, assuming they have reasonable ping. No more than 2 players from outside NA can be playing for a team.

A bit harsh isnt it? After all, if us euros want to play, we're already at a disadvantage due to ping, so why restrict us?

Getawhalethis is a minor piece of it, but.. I'm just imagining Valve when they catch wind of this. they put his name in the game because they thought he died.

cool to give Valve staff a reason to be like "we stuck our neck out for a community member, but turns out our community is just full of shitheads"

Apparently you have to die to force valve to fix their game, so maybe if kaidus fakes his death will they fix the sticky det bug

#6 Dying Graphics Card or Something Else? in Q/A Help

you're right, it could be some issue on the motherboard. Do you have a second pciexpress slot for the graphics card? can you try with another graphics card?

how different were those two RAM sticks? If i understood correctly you originally had one stick, then added another?

#2 Dying Graphics Card or Something Else? in Q/A Help

you could try removing the graphics card and use your motherboard video output and see if the issue is still there?

do you have unusual temps on cpu/gpu when the problem starts?

#10 Apex Legends in Other Games

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-02-04-respawn-explains-apex-legends-surprise-release-and-why-there-are-no-titans

some promotion material on the game for those who find it interesting

tldr:

It's essentially a genre-merge of battle royale and hero-based shooter.

Seinfeldi don't really think the average gaming populous (read: the part of gaming population that makes game companies money) has any interest in extremely high skill ceiling games that have a large barrier to entry

the number of players interested in such games makes a niche whatsoever, and a niche market can still be profitable.

For example paradox games like crusader kings/hearts of iron target a specific niche much smaller than fortnite audience and they still make money.

With esports games, the publishers need a lot of viewership probably because of the advertisement business around tournaments. Also recent games need constant income to maintain servers whereas in the past the community provided all the servers.

If someone makes a game on a small scale without any infrastructure (like reflex) that is somehow fun enough to be played in a non-competitive way (like tf2 or unreal tournament with all its custom maps and mods), there is room for an indie-scale success.

#5 An analogy in Q/A Help

but how do you practice a good nuts kick if you only do it in the direst situations?

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

SolarLightTwiggybut how do you enforce the stock stickies ban?We have a plugin that is available to all server owners. cpu.tf has already complied by adding both our plugin and our server configs.

Alternatively we could simply look at the logs or demo recordings to find inappropriate usage of stock stickies, based on player reports.

interesting plugin... I was not aware that existed
