BenroadsI live in Fairfax county and the schools are pretty good. Most if not all FCPS schools have an "Academy" program where you can go to other schools that offer different classes. If you're into IT stuff I highly recommend you take Network Administration at Marshall HS. By far the best class i've ever taken period. Got to go to NGIA for a field trip. iirc TJ is the only magnet school in the district but many of them offer AP and IB classes. Internet is pretty decent here, I get 75/35 with Fios and it's consistent for the most part. Can't really speak on land pricing since I know next to nothing about it.

Really useful, thanks. I'm definitely looking for math/CS heavy schools, so TJ looks like it would be perfect. Given by the policies on their site I would probably go to a normal HS for a year, before having the ability to apply, so another good high school would be good to know, though I probably wouldn't get the best of in just one year. Schools are probably my primary concern, and specific location doesn't matter so long as it's in the general area. Arlington seems to be the best county as of now, given that my father would be commuting in that area, and it's under TJ's umbrella.

If you don't want to start from scratch, make a pastebin of your scripts, would be helpful.

Now the question arises, do we use the lowest interp possible for all classes, or hitscan interp?

grapeThe McLean/Falls Church/Langley area in Fairfax County VA

I know the McLean and Langley school districts (probably some more) fall into the area of TJHSST, which is a magnet school that's been either ranked 1 or 2 for public schools in the country in the past few years. Falls Church has been recognized to have the most educated population in the country, and Fairfax County as a whole is one of the most wealthy counties in the US. Langley is where the CIA is, etc. The only bad part about the DC area as a whole is the traffic.

I'm from McLean, add me if you want to know more.

Pointed out the area, though I can't seem to find where the limits on TJHSST's jurisdiction, since my father wants ~1/3 acre+ (Which is kind of silly given that we're looking in the ~650k pricerange IMO).

DNJI'm a sophomore (I guess junior now??) in DC, I know plenty of kids who go to TJ and they're all really smart, it seems like a great school. I dunno where you're moving in from, but be prepared for plenty of humid weather. Like, really humid. DCPS is pretty shitty from what I've heard, but I'm sure there are some good schools. It's a great area and yeah, add me if you want or something.

We're probably not going to move to DC, given what I stated above. Coming from the North Shore in MA, so yeah, it'll take a while to get used to the climate I guess.

EDIT:
Looked around the school's website, never mind what I said about jurisdiction.

To south Maryland/Washington/North Virginia.

For reasons that I'm not going into, I may be moving into this area. I'm in 8th grade now (please don't derail), and going into high school next year. If this happens, it would be during this summer, so I'd be starting my freshman year at a new high school, in a new town, etc. I'm looking for suggestions for what general area to suggest, seeing as my parents are still at the introductory phase, having not quite decided whether or not we will move, and I hold a good deal of sway in the matter. Does anyone who lives in this area have any suggestions as to a neighborhood with a good public school system (Preferably with a Magnet system), good in terms of internet offerings, and a generally good reputation? It seems that a good deal of people on this site live in and around D.C., so I figure someone must know something.

Still not sure if it will even happen, but I feel that doing research is always good.

#472 How to Get to In-Game Comp Lobbies in TF2 General Discussion

Don't allow bans until you've both played with them or against them for a certain number of games? I.E, you aren't allowed to ban the pomson until you've played against people using it at least 5 times.

#405 (wow this is getting big fast)

If Valve does implement this, you would think that they would make at least some weapons designed for it. It's hard to say that there haven't been any updates that affect pubs that weren't targeted at MvM. Just look at the Heatmaker.

#14 Sudden performance increase? in TF2 General Discussion
frknMy avg fps hasn't changed, maybe you had a process hogging cpu when you ran the original benchmark?

I had made a point of trying to optimize my game as much as possible at the time, which included closing out all background programs, setting affinities, etc. I didn't do most of that this time, so it should have been worse.

This.

Valve's problem with 6s seems to be that it's to rigid and distant. If we go the same way with class restrictions as with weapons, and just make them all default to no caps, it's just a lowered player/server ratio. Which, given that they're already handing out 5-man MvM servers, which also needs to handle some 20-odd bots, shouldn't be too much of a problem in retrospect.

#15 Is this build good? in Hardware

Do you have some kind of external/extra storage? Might just be me being stupid, but you haven't listed a hard drive. 256GB Isn't very much in terms of axtual storage, I have more than that just in games from steam.

Waldoso I went through the whole benchmark demo from that thread from a while ago and have like 20-30 more frames. Did anyone else notice this?FzeroWas it the same spot on the map where you did both specs?vilefor me, players have a greater affect on fps than anything else.

Yeah, combining 4 and 5 into 2 seasons makes sense since both take place in the same time period, though it will be mostly book 5 content.
