Starry_NebulaeBut I personally don't see anything really affecting trans people with this bill passing. However I might be ignorant to some situations or confused on what this bill exactly does.
it basically means that you are able to discriminate against people based on their gender identity in ways that you could not discriminate against someone of that sex (in states that dont have laws protecting people based on gender identity)
ex:
in a state having no protection against discrimination based on gender identity
not giving a job to someone on the sole basis that they are a transgender female is allowed
BUT
not giving a job to someone on the sole basis that they are a biologically female is not-allowed
this is a problem exclusively for male to female transgender people because female to male transgender people are still protected by discrimination based on sex
another case where MRAs are correct that the male sex needs protection against discrimination
so in short yeah it theoretically could (and probably will) affect some transgender people

basically it is to make it so that laws protecting people from sexism will not apply to transgender people who have the protected sex as their gender identity but not their sex
stop blowing this out of proportion
this bill will make it so that lawmakers have to amend old laws and create new laws to actually protect individuals based on gender identity which most states with non-archaic laws have already done. if this bill passes i assure you even more states will pass laws to prevent discrimination against people based on gender identity
it is definitely not a great thing for transgender people (especially in states that currently have no protection, however if you are passing it should have no effect on you because an employer wont dare discriminate against you if you look like your gender identity
