Word on the street says these guys aren't sponsored but would be happy to be picked up by one

I don't think they're what the gnome is looking for
Pumhttps://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/6k2xd1/when_this_post_is_7_hours_old_two_great_esea/ This match sounds like it will be pretty fun to watch
Speaking of reddit, I've always wanted some sort of match threads on /r/tf2 like they do on /r/globaloffensive. I think these would be better than a "when this post is X hours old" post, but maybe that's just me.
If you're looking at the first page, then yeah it's quite outdated.
But as long as a monitor lists that it has the HDMI 2.0 specification and it can run 144hz, it should be able to run that refresh rate with HDMI.
If you can't find an HDMI 2.0 144hz monitor at a reasonable price, you could try legging it with an HDMI 2.0 to Displayport 1.2 converter for around $30.
any monitor at 144hz/120hz should be able to run at their highest refresh rate with HDMI as long as the port is 2.0 or 2.1.
theres a thread for 144hz/120hz monitors if you want to look through it http://www.teamfortress.tv/331/the-120hz-monitor-thread
trippaearly seasons of invite had almost every team sponsored
Mind you, early Invite for TF2 was very similar for early Invite for CS. CS was still a grassroots esport, so teams were just usually friends, orgs were small, and the teams attended very few LANs. TF2 was considered on the same level as CS, so it attracted the attention of some of the orgs that were sponsoring CS teams. Blight, HRG, eMazing, Evil Geniuses, CompLexity, and Team Pandemic all had teams both in TF2 Invite and CS Invite.
